9/2/2012parentA complete waste of time and money! The teachers are not certified! The owners/principal tell you what you wish to hear. There' also a tanning bed that they allow students to use- unsanitary! Horrible school!
8/8/2012parentA couple of years ago we sent one of our children to this school for Pre-K. I could not have been more disappointed. We purchased the books for class, only to find out that they were combining Pre-K and K together...they never even used the books we purchased. The teacher was not certified; not trained and was not equipped to handle the various personalities in the classroom. She had no patience, no experience and (IMHO) did more harm than good with our child. The "tools" the teacher decided to use as discipline with the students were completely ridiculous! This went on for months and months, even after multiple conversations with the teacher, principal and assistant principal. After months of utter frustration, we pulled our child. The other reviews that state a lot of the teachers are not certified, are accurate. Make your own decision, but ask a lot of questions. Make sure that the grades and curriculum will transfer if you decide to pull your child.
9/21/2011otherPlease do your research on this school! Their tuition is cheap for a reason. There were several kids with behavior problems in my Childs class. The curriculum is taught by parents, family members, other students. Also, work passed out by the teachers constantly had spelling errors. It was as if they did not care. It's a total waste of money.
8/7/2011parentDo not send your children to this school. There are a lot of discipline problems. When we enrolled they stated that there are no kids with discipline problems. Not true! It seems as if all the discipline problems were at this school. If your child is bright and courteous and has good hygiene, do not send them here!!
4/17/2011parentThis year was a total waste of money! The teachers did not "teach". All of the tests were too easy. Also, we found out after we enrolled that a lot of the teachers are not certified. The teachers are just family members of the owners. We are extremely disappointed in this school and leadership.
7/14/2009parentWe are excited for school to start back. This will be our third school year at AT4L and we are still in love with the school! Our children are excelling and love attending the school! No this school is not going to satisfy everyone, no school will ever do this! But you can not make your decision based on others. My son actually attends the school on the Special Needs Scholarship and the modifications that they make for him personally are perfect! They are definitely worth checking out! And yes they are looking for a place to expand to that the building is bigger. However, most classes only have 12 students or less!
4/23/2009parentThe intent of the school is good but they do not deliver and bring the kids up to even their public school grade level. It seems like a school for special needs kids. Not the influence I thought would be good for my kids.
4/17/2009parentMy student loves his classes and teachers. He has been at AT4L for two and a half years. He is two grade levels above where he would be in public school. The ABEKA curriculum is wonderful. His teachers are very caring and experienced. There has not been any turn overs in his teachers at all. I love the online grading system where I can check his grades daily and the homework that is posted on the website daily. I feel we are always very informed as parents. The over night field trip to the Atlanta Zoo was also a great treat for him.
3/31/2009parentAs a very involved parent with a child who attends this school, I absolutely have to commend them!! If you think the teachers are not well fitted for the job, maybe you should try talking to them. Each teacher in the school plays a part in the education process of each student. No, every teacher is not trained with a master's degree...some of the ones I have spoken to are more equipped with experience...this to me makes them more well-rounded & open to trying different ways to teach children. This is the only school in this area who will ability group and teach children off all different needs. Not all children will learn best in a non-traditional private school, but alot of children need this type of school...so don't knock it because it did not work for your child, just find what does...and be sure your child is doing their part.
3/18/2009parentThis school has so many problems I just don't know where to start. There are far too many tudents than the school can handle. The kids are squeezed into rooms and herded up and down the halls like cattle. The class sizes are the same as public schools, but prepare yourself for not having a clue who the teacher will be this week. Teachers come and go and the ones that stay do not know what they are doing. The teachers DO NOT ALL have special needs backgrounds. The school DOES NOT know how to make or implement special needs modifications. Don't waste you time or money, it will just frustrate you and the student.
3/12/2009parentI am thrilled with this school!!! A Time for Learning has been a blessing for my daughter. Previously, my child was barely speaking and attended a regular daycare where she was not getting the time and attention she needed to grow and learn, all she was doing was playing, eating, and sleeping. Raising a child with a disability is a challenge in itslef and I am so relieved to know that she is thriving in a organized, disciplined and progressive learning environment. I think that the students are in tight quarters, but its obvious that as the schools reputation has grown so has the number of students. The teacher's and staff are dedicated. My daughter loves the teachers & the food is great! I would strongly recommend A Time 4 Learning!
2/9/2009parentI find this school to be wonderful. It is fully accredited from k - 12th grade. The class size is very small and intimate. The teachers are able to focus individual attention on your child and help him/her to flourish. The teach your child at the child's individual level, ability based teaching, which actually challenges my bright student. The teachers and staff are knowledgeable and familiar with each child and their family and go out of their way to work with you and your child to get the best education possible. I can't say enough good things about this school. The public school system in this area is atrocious. Any parent who is actually concerned about their child's education should go out of their way to get their kids out of the Newton County Public school system and into this school.
9/10/2008parentWe are greatly pleased with the school. Our children are going great and love it here. How can you complain about small classes. That is exactly why we are at the school. I love that I have complete contact with the teachers. I love how the homework is posted on the web daily. For a new school it is worth checking out!
8/18/2008parentThis school has been a big disappointment. The caliber of most of teachers and quality has been shockingly poor, and the class rooms are too small. I can not recommend this school to anyone. Everything about this school is poorly thought out. Most of the other public schools in the district would be better. It has therefore given none of the advantages of a private school.
