| 5/17/2012 | parent | My 2 children loved Brookwood Elementary for the three years we have been here. You can tell the teachers enjoy what they are doing because of the enthusiasm they bring. |
| 8/30/2011 | parent | I truly love Brookwood Elementary School. I have had 3 children to attend Brookwood, and I can not say what a excellent education that they all received. From the principal, teachers, lunchroom staff, ect...everyone at the school is top notch! |
| 7/19/2011 | parent | Both my children attend Brookwood and I've had nothing but a positive experience with this school. The teachers are fantastic. Engaged and care very much about their students. The prinicpal is also very good here. We love Brookwood! :) |
| 10/12/2010 | parent | Well, there are good things and bad things about this school. The counselors are great, the extra curricular activities are great. When it comes to the bus system and the parental involvement, the school is terrible. my son is supposed to get dropped off at 3:50 in the afternoon and is repeatedly dropped of at 4:25 or later. The teachers do not involve parents at all and the also punish and do not reward. if a student isn't as fast as they would like they threaten to take away recess. I am very disappointed because we chose this house because of the school system and the great reviews it received. When I went into enroll my children, even the front staff were unfriendly. |
| 9/18/2008 | parent | My daugther has been a student at Brookwood since Kindergarten. The whole staff at Brookwood is wonderful. Teacher quality is great! The location is wonderful as well. I would advise anyone who is moving to the area to move to a neighborhood where your child will be zoned for this school. You will be so happy and so will your child. Thank you! |
| 2/19/2008 | parent | I am so pleased with all aspects of Brookwood, the music dept, art, and most of all the teachers! Ms. Smith (K) is awesome and really is in tune with my childs needs... |
| 3/24/2007 | parent | great school, probably the best in gwinette, The principal and the teachers are awesome , easily approchable and take a keen interest in molding these young minds and imparting good values.Keep the good work up! |
| 5/15/2006 | parent | Overall, the school is wonderful. However, it does nothing to further educate the children who are more advanced. |
| 6/24/2005 | parent | As a military family and having traveled to many places my main concern is always how my children will adjust to the new school. I have to say that Brookwood was a true delight to my whole family. Such a warm and friendly environment for children to be a part of all day everyday. My son fell ill during his 3rd grade yr. He was in the hospital for 4wks. His teacher Mrs. Lane was truely a God sent. She helped in every way she could to continue my son's education while he was ill (not to mention she called our cell phones almost every day to see how he was doing). That is how much they care. We are about to move once again and I have to say, it will be a very sad day when we say goodbye to everyone at Brookwood! The music teacher is the best! |
| 6/7/2005 | parent | My son attended this school 2003-2004. I also attended this school when I was younger. I have to say that out of the two schools my son has attended so far, this an excellent school! They have many activities that parents can participate in and the music program is awesome! I love the high and somewhat strict safety standards! As long as I know my child is safe while I am not with him, then I am happy! My child learned so much from his teachers. He also really enjoyed going to school! I do have to say that I had one issue with the school on a family situation, but I also understand that they were being cautious for my child's safety and well being. I really enjoyed this school! |
| 2/6/2005 | former student | I went to Brookwood when I was in third grade. I am now a sophomore in college, but I remember my teachers, Mrs. Spiers and Mrs. Eubanks fondly. They were always there for me, willing to help. I also thank Mr. Carr, because he helped me discover my love for the arts so early in life! I hope to be able to give my children the same experiences by placing them in a school like Brookwood. I also plan to teach so other children can experience the great times to be had! |
| 8/16/2004 | former student | I attended Brookwood Elementary and I would have to say that it is an excellent school. I am now a college freshmen after graduating 3rd from my high school. Teachers are generally pleasant people and love what they do. There is also a wonderful enrichment program for the musical arts, led by the music and drama director, Mr. Carr. The visual arts are also encouraged and appreciated by every teacher. I would like to personally praise Mrs. Diana Teagarden (2nd grade), she always listened and was kind. I remember her fondly and and think of her often. I can honestly say, that Brookwood help create the individual I have become. |
| 9/9/2003 | parent | My son went to Brookwood for one school year, 2001-2002. He was in Miss Speir's third grade. This was the best teacher and best school he's attended so far (he's in fifth now). Their reading program is excellent, and there were few discipline issues within my son's class. My son is ADHD, and their discipline policy was fairly strict, but not in a bad way. The kids knew what was expected of them, and they knew they could not get away with acting out. This left the classroom eager and ready to learn. My son excelled in this school, where he was considered a 'discipline problem' in others. We are military, so we move a lot, and I wish that every school was as great as Brookwood! If we ever have a choice of military assignments, we'd definitely move back to the Brookwood Elementary school district! |
