| 9/22/2009 | parent | I love Oglethorpe Primary School because It has built up my sons confidence and enthusiasm. Last year moving from another county, my son was to start 1st grade. After three weeks into the new year the principle, guidance counselor, academic counselor, kindergarten teacher and 1st grade teacher along with my husband and I decided it would be best if my son repeated kindergarten. Many tears between my son and myself, It was the best decision ever. My son looks forward to school and enjoys doing his work nighly. OCPS helped so much during this transition that I can only think highly of this school. And if the school had not notice the struggles with my son it would have been a tough year for our family. |

They couldn't wait for it to begin. I think the reason for that is because of the school itself and the teachers who make learning fun. I know they look forward to learning every day! |

The teachers and staff seem to really care about the children and were always open to communicating in whatever form was most convenient-- email, in person, phone, or notes back and forth. Our child really excelled here and had teachers who challenged and praised him regularly. He was particularly motivated by the 'Panda Rewards' that teachers give out. We feel fortunate that our child has had such a great experience over the past 3 years! |

They do tend to teach with the goal of children scoring well on the CRCTs. Regardless, my daughter, now being homeschooled in 3rd gr. is ahead of the normal 3rd gr. curriculum. Her training in art and music was also excellent. It's one of the best schools I've ever dealt with. |

Everyone, including all the teachers, office personnel, custodians, EVERYONE is very friendly and helpful.The school is very open an friendly and inviting to parents and and families of the students. I was so nervous about my child startign school and now we are sad to be leaving. The fact that it is only K-2 also helps! |
