Hilo High is a school that teaches real life lessons. Not everything is perfect and some areas need work. But the students leave with a quality education. |

| 10/26/2004 | parent | In addition to a good selection of classes, there are numerous extra-curricular activities including: Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon, Junior Achievement,Model U.N., Performing Arts (Hilo High is a performing arts learning center), JROTC, athletics, numerous clubs (Key, Leo, Junior Greenpeace). The school has taken numerous state championships in Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, Science Bowl, Japan Bowl, and Paradise Pursuits (environmental knowledge). Graduates are or have been attending, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, USC, West Point, and the Air Force Academy in addition to colleges located within Hawaii and west coast states. Overall test scores for school do not reflect education received by students who come from families with supportive parents. |
