10/31/2009parentI love Oak View School because when I'm there I feel like a family member. Being a teacher here has made me feel that I'm part of an ongoing learning experience for my students as well as myself. At Oak View we care about our students , our parents, and our teachers. Our community is a better place because Oak View is part of it. Terry Stortz kindergarten teacher

They have my utmost respect for the time and effort that they put into their work. They have an expection for each child in their classroom and try to exceed those for each one of their students. And I as a parent of a student there I admire their willingness to help every child . And keeping their education and safety in prosective.

10/14/2009otherIt is a great school to help students grow and has great opportunities for students to learn and prosper into individuals that will be optimistic and positive people to society. The school has eager students and staff who strive in succeeding however, without additional funds it is hard to accomplish.

9/28/2009parentOak View has a very ethnically diverse population within its school. A majority of its students are from a 'low-income' household, but despite this, it has been named as part of the Illinois Honor Roll as a Spotlight School, and has made AYP status. Great work to the students and to the staff!
9/28/2009parentI cannot say enough good things about the staff at Oak View! Through each and every grade, my child has been supported, encouraged, challenged, and cared for as an individual. Everyone is kind, friendly, and has the best interest of the students at heart. My child's experience at Oak View has urged me to become more involved with the PTA, a decision I was happy to make!
10/17/2008parentI think that the school is great, they really promote reading as a part of the students everyday life. They also test the students and give the parents constant feedback. My daughter has really improved on her reading.
6/29/2006parentThis school needs to do more as far as learning field trips,
5/31/2006parentMy children have and do currently attend OakView. I have found the teachers and staff to be helpful. The school has a high mixture of races and income level. This lead to the school being on review for test scores. I don't think the test results accurately judge a school because the schools just learn how to play the game. I wish the parents were more involved in the school but I have no complaints above the level of learning that my kids have received.
3/14/2006parentGood school not a great school. More parent involvement is needed to make it a great school.
