I had two that graduated and one more there and never was unhappy about the school. If I came up on a problem it was quickly resolved and leaving me pleased. I never felt that the school was more for the whites nor the blacks. I think that they were more for the students because education shouldn't have a color. Reguardless, of how we feel about the staffs if the students don't want the education then it will be hard for the teachers to teach which will make it hard for the other students who wants to learn. My family and I don't have much but I want my children to know that having an education is like having gold that no one can't take away from you no matter what. |

Even before she started her first day, the school was involved with making her high school experience the best it could be. The principal at the Almod campus id GREAT and you can tell that he truely cares about the children in the school. They encourage the parents to be involved in thier childs education. The teachers are really good with communicating with the parents and keep you well informed of your childs progress, especially when there is a problem that can be addressed before it becomes a detriment in thier performance. For the number of students enrolled at the school, you would expect they would be too busy too busy, but that is definately not the case at Warren. It truely is a great school, with caring staff and educators, and they provide a top quality educational experience. |
| 2/21/2012 | student | I'm a junior at Warren and I've gone here all three years.Yeah, it has its flaws. For example, it's so big. For some students its overwhelming, but its size enables students to have opportunities that smaller schools just can't provide. And even though Warren is so large, students don't have to get lost in the crowds. One merely needs to take initiative. You want extra help from a teacher? You merely need to seek them out, they won't come to you. The teachers are of quality and there are many opportunites given where students can take the opportunity to get extra help. And because Warren is so big, we have colleges visiting from around the country to court students, and it is easy to be able to speak with, and get info from, someone from a college in California, New York, or Texas. Many AP courses are offered, there's even one for freshmen, which is really helpful later on, and economical. The fine arts programs are awesome, and the sports are plentiful. Yes, there are issues, espcially at the O'Plaine Campus. But no school is perfect, and things definetly improve as students mature and move to Almond Campus. |

Thanks to all the selfish parents and students that have their two bit opinions about the most minor issues, and then you read it and are not sure what to make out of it. My goodness can people complain. I guess it's your God given right, but the glass is not always half full. Their facilities are too nice! Not enough emphasis on sports, too much emphasis on sports. The floors are clean, no they aren't.. Lord.. Get a grip!! I give it a 5 just to balance out some of the stupidity! |

| 10/9/2009 | student | I am a Senior at warren, it is nothing like libertyville i have a varsity athlete and sports are not the top priorit. last year seniors had a senority in the school, this year nothing at all. At the main football events, we cant even black out or white out because its against school ruled which is crap. If i were a parents id sent my chile to libertyville,vernon hills, carmel they are all better then warren |
| 10/27/2008 | student | I am a sophomore at Warren currently. I am an all honors/Ap level student (who does well in the classes as well) who is currently in two sports and the top band. I love Warren. The honors program is high level, many students accumulate large scholarships. There are so many things you can be involved in from music, to sports intramural and competitive, clubs(most where anyone is in) and voulenteer programs. There is a place for everyone. There is a good diversity of teachers and teaching styles that is a good mix and preparation for further education. I like almost all of my teachers. One of the challenges Warren faces is the diversity, there is no way around it. It is very difficult to cater to all types of attitudes and people to succeed academically. The plus side is it best exposes everyone to learn to interact and except diversity. |

The population is indeed large but to succeed in extracuricular activities is not that hard. There are so many activities to choose from it would please even the pickiest student. I love all my teachers and if you try your best you will go far through Warren. 'It all starts here.' |

| 2/27/2007 | parent | We moved to Warrens school district a few years ago. We have been very happy with the school and all they provide. It is much better than the school district my kids were in previously. Is it perfect? No. Are there are other schools nearby that are better? Sure. Do we all want to pay higher property taxes so more can be spent? Probably not. So it's a catch 22. The money has to come from somewhere right? But where? My only complaint is with athletics. There is a lot of favortism in some sports while others don't get the same consideration and attention. Overall though, I'm proud to send my kids to Warren. |

We have excellent extracurricular activities but since the population is so large there is a very slim chance of actually making a team. The teachers are mostly mean and not very helpful, but don't get me wrong i have had some amazing teachers while at this school. My brother also went to this school as well, he is from the class of 05, and his opinion of the school was also not so good. I think money is being spent on the wrong things. if i were a parent i would not send my kid here. |

Being a student at the school I think that we kind of take advantage of it all and not even how good our school really is. All the teachers are pretty young but yet have vary good teaching methods. | 3/22/2006 | parent | Quite a few new teachers that don't know how to work with adhd kids. The teachers and system want them to fit in rather than work with them. They will help if pushed but you (the parent) must stay very present and participative. Most of the guidance counselors are helpful but unless your child is average or above, it may be a bit of a struggle. |

Because of the rapid growth in the school they have facility crowding and discipline problems. However, they do have a new superintendent that is making some postitive changes. It may be several years before they will be in fully effective enough to make an overall impact educationally. They have a very diverse ethnic base and a lot to offer in the way of activities for the students. |

The lunch room and library were recently expanded in the O'Plaine campus, but the campus is still overcrowded and this is expected to be more so each year. I think it would be better for the school to split into 2 separate schools, but that is not politically expedient now. The athletic programs do well. Academic programs seem pretty standard. |
| 7/18/2005 | parent | The school facilities are very good. However, drugs and booze are rampant among all grades. I know my child graduated from this school and knows the inside tract. For a blue ribbon school system, this is not good. The school administration is OK. What makes this a blue ribbon school is beyond any reasonable minds' comrehension! No tolerance policy is a great excuse to allow teachers to not take ownership of teaching, but only to regurgitate text material and act aloof! Thus, teacher interest is seemingly low. Administrations interest is high. You decide if this is a good combination. |

Overall, the teachers are great, I think I was lucky to get some of Warren's best teachers. I think they do a great job of maintaining the school buildings, the Almond campus blows away most of Lake county's high schools. I think the board and administration is where much of the schools problems are. Emphasis is always on sports, and the school really needs to offer more AP or advanced level classes. Additionally, the school should offer more languages, especially Latin, which is offered at schools like Stevenson and Libertyville. They need a math and english 'center/lab' where students can get extra help during the school day, or if their teacher can't help after school, I think this would help students on ACT/SAT's, and boost Warren's achievement ratings. |

I think the school is great, I was diagnosed with ADHD in 3rd grade and since I went to warren all the teachers try to help me out and make things easier for me. The counselors are great and if you ever have a mental breakdown they are always there to help. The students help each other out and you dont see many fights in the school. Almost all my teachers are the teachers you dream about, they help you learn and make you laugh and enjoy the subject. They make class interesting so we dont get bored. The school is not in the greatest shape but it still holds all 2,000 kids. For what we have, I think we do very well. |

The reform needs to be around struture and how kids are showing up in this community to learn and be menTored big time! Parents are too busy with their work and not wanting vote for reform due to the lack of leadership at the school in delivering honest guidelines around budgets and money distribution to education. Yes the sports programs are great but we must focus on business and other curriculums like collaboration with the business community to help these kids and their futures...that is where the money needs to be spent....new building are just the outside its the inside where the kids are that is the key! |

| 1/8/2005 | teacher | I'm a teacher, and I live in the district. Honestly, I would not want to send my children here and I'm looking to move in the next 2-3 years. When I began at Warren it was great, and every year since it has declined in focus and quality. The board leadership is poor at best, administration is weak because they have been cut to an absolute minimum after a failed referendum, and the teachers are frustrated with the declining educational level of the freshman coming in each year. I'm extremely concerned about the future of this school. |

In 2000, we received a national Blue Ribbon award and boasted that our scores were among the best in the state and country. Recent report cards show that we have declined to approximately average compared to the rest of the state. For the second year in a row, we have failed to meet the minimal standards in the Federal requirements. Administration is too immersed in maneuvering for power to provide any educational leadership. |

And the community is very involved with the school and sports. However, warren does a lot of updating to the school in the wrong places, and a lot of the focus IS on extracurricular activities like varsity sports. However, overall, the district is great! |

Throughout my 4 years at Warren I feel that received the best education possible.The teachers were outstanding in their fields, and presented an emphasis on learning to all of their students by utilizing different strategies for all learning styles.The entire staff was always interested in each and every student's success, and not only were our teachers, but our friends.I was involved with extracurricular activities while attending Warren, and feel that each coach and instructor were fantastic.The principal Mr. Ron Shelton greets every student at the door as they enter the school each morning with a smile on his face.The entire staff and the community are extremely supportive of the school and the sports teams.At different sports events, students and the community alike showed up to support the players.I highly recommend WTHS! The staff is professional. They go above and beyond to provide a quality education that meets the individual needs of the students. The safety and security precautions in place provide a secure learning environment. The school promotes character values such as citizenship, honesty, responsibility, respect, caring, civility, morality, and tolerance. I believe my children received an excellent, well-rounded education that prepared them for the challenges ahead and provided them with the tools necessary to succeed. |
| 9/9/2003 | parent | Too much emphasis on extracurricular activities. I.E Teacher leaves class to coach swim team leaving students to fend for themselves or 'come get me'. Money spent provides cable TVs in class rooms; lighted marquee for theatrical productions; pool installed in place of several class rooms; and only 1/3 of the new HS has class rooms - rest is for special activity rooms, adminstrative offices and gym. Yet they continue to scream for more money threatening to cut off academic classes. They need to focus more on basics and less on creating an impression. |
| 9/1/2003 | parent | I have one child attending WTHS. The teachers have been wonderful. They find ways to work with each child and find extra time for extra help regularly. The high school does offer a wide variety of extra curricular activites but because the enrollment is so large the chances of actually making one of the sports teams is slim. The school also charges $100.00 payment for each sport a child participates in. That amount of money will keep many students from trying out. The overall saftey and discipline is below average, I am assuming because of the huge population and the staff is overwhelmed. Overall the highschool has a very effective educational curriculum. |

But they have been some problems with too many students and not enough money for the school to handle the students. So since the last Refurendum did not pass, they have taken a class off our year. Insted of 8 classes now we only get 7 and it's costs alot more and for thouse 7 classes than it did for thouse 8 classes. I rather get 8 classes and my whole Edjucation then just 7 and have to pay more. Don't you agrie? |
