I will not send my son here again. they stick their nose in where it doesn't belong. I have never hated something like I hate this school. | 5/30/2010 | parent | Not one of the better Jr Highs in the school district. Teachers are at best, uncaring and unmotivated. Parents have been discouraged from taking an active role in their child's education. It takes more than a phone call to the principal to get a return phone call from the teachers. There are some very GOOD teachers who clearly enjoy what they do, however, they teach the electives (band and choir). Principal takes a "hand off" approach to education leaving the majority of the work to the assistant principals. Assistant principals rotate out every year, so very little consistency/continuity. Front office staff extremely rude to parents and guests, can only imagine how they would treat the students. |

Also there are so many awsome classes to choose from the 8th graders always cry when they have to for high school! Have fun at Thompson while you still can! The best is always still to come! |

| 5/21/2008 | parent | My son started going here in the middle of 6th grade. We have lived in southwest Florida and also in Colorado which in both states the schools were very good. This school however has turned him around to where he loves his classes. The teachers and been so nice to him and to us. They have always gotten back to us very quickly. This is a great school! |
| 3/5/2008 | student | When I went here so many teachers were rude and didn't care. My grades suffered severly for it. Teachers didn't even try to help me and I was almost even held back! Luckly, I was able to switch schools, I went to Plank my grades went way up, I was on honor roll. I really didn't like this school teachers were unfair they would even tell me they had all authority over me more than my parents. This schools athletics are great though they really push kids as far as they can go. I just really wish it was a better learning envoriment. |
| 11/23/2007 | other | I went to this school between 2002-2005, and although I had a good time, it was definately below average. There were a few awesome teachers, but there were atleast twenty I experienced who were awful and rude! The building has had so many additions, it simply doesn't fuction. There is a main hallway between the two sides of the school that is so narrow, students are being jammed into lockers to get by. I feel that I didn't get the help I needed in this school. I felt ready to be in honors courses, and no teachers helped. I had to wait until high school when new teachers noticed my academic abilities and placed me in advanced courses. |
| 2/3/2005 | parent | The teachers are substandard - the best teachers are treated horribly by the administration - the worst teachers (who are verbally abusive to parents or ignore parents completely) are retained. Too many kids at this school (35+ per class), no real learning or caring going on. Old-time community families are favored with no discipline (just as minorities) and 'A' grades for doing no work, as are the athletes. This is the worst school my children have ever attended and we are moving before it gets worse. |
