| 10/2/2008 | parent | Just look at the test scores...it says alot about this school that the parents do not. My son attended this school for a year. We moved due to the poor school system in Romeoville. Overloading kids with 3-4 hours of homework a night, not a good way to get kids motivated. My son was a straight A student..never considered for advanced classes. The schools my children attend now are rated 8 and 9. All test scores are above the state average. Because of this, the schools get the funding they need, and the taxes are nowhere near the outrageous amount in Romeoville. I used to love this town,I lived there for 25 years. Now it has been overpopulated with kids who dont get the help they need from home to pass these state tests, which means no funding. I am so glad my honor student is no longer subjected to this. |

| 1/3/2007 | parent | I am a parent and I have never seen such a committed team of people as the ones who work at AVM. They truly care about the children. The school has finally been remodeled and looks great. They keep these kids on their toes. I keep in constant contact with the teachers via email. Homework hotline on website is awesome. But, they don't go easy on these kids. I have been impressed. I think their sport teams need to expand and have atleast a JV and varsity. There are 50 kids who tryout for a sport and they only have less than 10 spots. It's discouraging for the kids. |

| 9/21/2004 | former student | I attended AVM two years a go, and I really hated it when I was there. It wasn't as if I was a 'bad kid' or anything. On the contrary, I was (and still am) an honor roll student. It was just, in my opinion, a lot of the teachers were demanding. For example, an 8th grade teacher liked to give 60 or more difficult math problems a night, which could take several hours to complete. That same year I had an English teacher who was prone to crazy mood swings, she would be friendly and funny one moment, and furious the next. This is not to say the whole school was bad. Some of the teachers were generally very caring and supportive of students. However, my aunt (who attended in the late seventies) and I both agree AVM, most times, was a difficult place to have fun or enjoy yourself. |
| 7/21/2004 | parent | This school is an organized school, when it comes to getting the kids their education. My child went here in the 7th grade and complained about the bathrooms. They need remodeling. The kids were great, too. I would recomend this school to any preteen. |

I love this school The teachers really know how to teach and they teach very well.They give you so many opportunities to raise your grades and they really push you to succeed. I know the bathrooms aren't the cleanest but you are going there to learn not to stay in the bathroom 24/7. I would enroll anyone to this school! |

My children are all at different learning abilities, and that was one thing I was worried about as a parent. My children got the attention and guidance they each needed to succeed. I am proud to be a parent of three very successful children, all a result of this fine school. |
