| 6/18/2009 | student | As a student at SHS I believe its a great school with caring people. As any school yes sparta does have down falls but no major ones. As far as our princpal he's great. In genral he truely does care & works hard. I guess everyone has a their own view on things. For you to only live here 5 years & judge our school as you did is very rude. To also say if your christian give me a break. There are tons of christians at sparta high & I am one of them! As far as your daughter & you good luck to which school you might find because no school is perfect. I love Sparta & believe its a truely a lovely school. |
| 12/22/2004 | parent | We moved to this district about 5 years ago. There has been nothing but decline with my daughter's grades and friends. My daughter has even been 'depantsed' - yes, her pants were pulled all the way down in the hallway and nothing was done! There is currently no chorus teacher at the high school which is a big deficit for my daughter because she loves to sing, going to contests last year was a joke. Every time that I have been around the principal he has been flirting with either the students or other females. If morals don't matter to you, your student will be fine. If you are a Christian and want high standards and morals for your child, look elsewhere! |
| 10/1/2004 | parent | Sparta High has a lot of extra curricular to offer the students. I just wish that the funding was there to challenge the 'gifted' students. It seems a shame that the smarter children do not get any extra challenges and are falling through the cracks. It is also a shame that Sparta does not offer vocal music anymore. There are a lot of beautiful voices that need to be heard. All in all, having graduated from the SCSD 140, and having children in the school district (all 3 Sparta schools in Sparta), I would have to say that over the years, they have improved. |

It may seem small but the teachers care, and this makes all the difference in a student getting the chance to succeed along with the encouragement to improve and advance. Parent envolment is greatly appreciated. |
