The really do not utilize the parent resources and there are bullying problems during recess. It doesn't seem like the teachers or staff do anything about this. I have a child who is well advanced in academics in her age and the teachers do not give her extra work, she complains of everything being too easy and is frankly bored. They do need to offer more enrichment for advanced learners. |
| 5/14/2009 | parent | Small classes, small school (small town). Academics are good. I d like to see some enrichment for advanced learners. Some teachers do offer advanced work on top of regular work; others don t offer anything for those ahead of the class. No extracurriculars, but the community has sports. My child s teachers have been competent, caring, and able to maintain order, and seem to to make a little time for fun in spite of pressure to teach to the ISTEP. Minor bullying at recess seem common as teacher-monitors spend the time chatting. One major complaint: almost zero opportunities for parent involvement or getting to know teachers or other families. I really want to be involved and can't! Overall it's a good school. My child is doing well there and enjoys going to school. |
| 9/19/2006 | staff | The quality of academic programs is average. Music, art, & library average out to be once a week. The level of parent involvement I would rate as poor. The few parents that are involved are great. The students at the school would benefit far more with better interaction between parents & the school staff. It's a school with much possibility if the administration would better utilize parent resources. |
