| 8/14/2012 | other | Terrible school. Its like a sanctuary for drugs, violence, and disrespectful children. Kids get in fights and are "suspended" but you see them the very next day. NO disciplinary action whatsoever towards students, and disgustingly low academic standards. Sending your child here will be one of the worst deciscions of your life. After four LONG years, I am jumping with joy that I finally am a freshman and I am out of that school. Take my word, parents. |
| 10/13/2011 | other | I have been told there is a new principal at Clay Middle and some very good 5th grade teachers. I would like to know if this principal is doing a better job than the previous one. This was once an excellent school. Why can't it be turned around? |
| 6/1/2011 | parent | I visited this school and I was not impressed by it. Scores are low and students seemed unhappy, distracted, and annoyed to be there. I do not know how politicians survive in this district! I wish they can improve... |
| 11/11/2010 | parent | i have 3 kids that go to clay middle and my kids keep getting bullied and nothing is getting done. this is a great school for learning but when it comes down to fighting and discipline they do nothing about it. im seriously considering tranfering my kids school. very unhappy with the way things are going when it comes to bullying. |
| 9/5/2008 | student | I love this school! I think my Lit. Block teacher is nice :) |
| 2/27/2007 | student | I attend Clay in the 8th grade and i am not happy with the school. There is no discipline and the principal does not take initiative to help kids or take charge of the kids who start trouble. |
| 9/21/2006 | parent | Both of my sons attend Clay Intermediate. One is an 8th grader and the other one is new to the school. We have loved Clay since the beginning. Most of the teachers here really have a vested interest in the students. They are great at calling and letting us know when our children are not doing what they need to do. They have wonderful programs including music, art and sports. One of the best things they have is to allow all 5th and 6th graders to play basketball without trying out. This really builds the children's confidence and helps them build their knowledge of basketball. They also have a wonderful PTSO that really gets involved and plans wonderful events for the children. |
| 12/12/2004 | parent | I believe that the school could use a new principal. The current one does not take an active role in the school. The children are not punished for behavior problems in the same way. If a parent has a problem, he sends you to someone else instead of helping. He also states that cheerleading has no place in the school, yet talks about bringing the 5,6,7 & 8th graders together, more like a team. |
