| 4/13/2010 | parent | This school serves kids from elementary all the way up to high school with behavioral and emotional problems. The teachers and support staff have backgrounds in special ed. and there are many services available on-site, including therapy and medication monitoring. While almost all of the children have some sort of medical diagnosis, most are not obvious due to the casual observer due to the incredible dedication of the teachers and therapists in helping these kids to succeed in life. As with all children, parental involvement is necessary for the children to overcome their challenges. The staff willingly works with parents to accommodate work schedules for meetings and conferences, even if it means telephone conferences after work on the teacher's own time. The only children in this school I feel are in danger of failing are the ones whose parents' can't be bothered to get involved. |

There is wediko therepy, school guidence and extra staff in the classroom. Some children do not take advantage of what the school provides, and its unfortunate. However, my child is doing well and will be successful in a regular ed school (inclusion class). |

The school has some of the best Classroom libraries in the city. Although the students are challenged, the staff comprised of teachers, assistant teachers, guidance staff and therapists offer a wide range of academic as well as therapeutic supports that keep students engaged.
