| 10/6/2011 | parent | Fenn is a terrific school for boys. My son is excited to go to school every day. Fenn understands boys and tailors every aspect of the school to them. They are never asked to sit still too long. Chances to be active are woven through the day, including an hour of sports in the middle of the academic day. Fenn has a culture that encourages competition but also a very supportive, inclusive community. Fenn's goal of educating the whole boy means that all aspects of your son are drawn out, academic, athletic and artistic. The school community is strong and the faculty members really get to know your son. Fenn has very strong values that are communicated constantly to the boys. My son is extremely happy at Fenn. It feels like a second family to him and to us, as parents. We highly recommend Fenn. |
| 10/4/2011 | parent | An exceptional school, particularly because of its academic rigor, committed and caring faculty, and emphasis on character development. The school's appropriately increasing expectations each year are balanced with the ideal kind of nurturing to help boys achieve their potential. The school is very well led; the Headmaster has set an excellent course for the school. Coming from east of Rte. 2, our 25-30 minute commute is entirely manageable and so worth the trip. Truly, it's a school where boys thrive. |
| 10/3/2008 | parent | Love The Fenn School in Concord, MA. It has been a breath of fresh air for my boys! Fenn 'gets' boys - the school knows what engages a boy, what makes him think, how to best tailor the academic/athletic/arts program to suit a boy's needs. It is fabulous! My boys have tried things they never would have tried at the public schools. Love the small class sizes, too! |
| 10/2/2008 | parent | The Fenn School understands boys. The teachers are warm and caring, and they give each boy the attention he deserves. The school devotes itself to educating 'the whole boy,' and I did not fully appreciate that goal, until I saw it in action. The academics are rigorous. I have not seen any 'busywork,' however. Every assignment has a purpose, and I have been impressed by how the teachers have managed to make challenging schoolwork really interesting. The writing program is wonderful. From the fourth grade on, the boys work on their writing, in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. The boys also play sports four days a week, and explore the arts, including drama, vocal and instrumental music, painting, pottery, photography, and wood working. In a single-sex environment, they are free to explore their artistic, expressive talents. Fenn prepares boys for life. |
| 6/28/2005 | parent | The Fenn School is a fantastic place to send your son for a truely well rounded education. The academics are execellent and challanging. The music/arts program is also great, in a time when other schools cannot focus any time/money on the arts. There are many music classes, bands to joins, plays to participate in, etc. The art classes include drawing, painting, pottery, woodshop, photography, and more! Sports are also a part of the education process at Fenn. There are many opportunities in sports from football, basketball, baseball, soccer, to wrestling, lacrosse, and skating! The staff at Fenn really understands boys and offers them a complete well rounded education. It is the perfect opportunity for all boys, and once you check into it, go on a tour, meet the staff, you will definitely want to send your son there. |
