| 10/3/2012 | parent | I am the parent of two children and both came to Central Middle School - in the LAB program and both had a bad experience. Secretaries knows who to attend nicely and quickly otherwise it takes long to meet the needs of the other parents, On the phone they will keeping you "hold-down".Teacher expectations appears that is all about MCAS. They know all about diversity - but they do show favoritism and prejudice toward some students. Teacher experience stress and so there is screaming and yelling around March/April most likely because MCAS testing/results. Those that said "I love this school" "CMS is the best school" is because they are the favorite - you been helped, or you are one of the circle. It is the genuine true and they know it. Kids here are rude and/or arrogant. The past 6 years the principals have not been caring enough to stop rudeness. One thing I must said positively is that one of my kids always said CMS "must keep this Hispanic Language Teacher for ever he is the only one great.. he is there for the students. he's truly is making a difference. Hoping Central Middle School can be a better community-culture with the new soon location Will keep close eye on.... |
| 4/2/2010 | parent | Central is a great school. Registration normally takes time. We , as parents love to see our chilren has homeworks, doing shcool projects rather than playing on computers. My daughter loves Central, she does not want to miss a day of school even she is sick. She is in AP. |
| 4/1/2010 | parent | This is one of the most unorganized schools I have been in. It took the front desk lady an hour for me to register my child. My child came home later that night complaining of how much the teachers scream and yell at the other students so much. My child has recently been depressed due to all the homework, projects, essays, and they way the students treat her. |
| 3/29/2010 | parent | my son is in the advanced classes and he really loves it and he has some great teachers |
| 6/12/2009 | parent | I like this School helped my son |
| 4/20/2009 | student | I love Central middle school. It has highly motivated and educated teachers. The kids are very nice and making friends is not a problem. The extra curricular activites are very enjoyable and this school is definitely better than point webster or any other in the district. The AP program is really challenging and for smart kids it is actually easy. So if you have a kid that is not up to it, Central has neighborhood divisions and even honor divisions. So if you are looking for a great school for your child, enroll them in Central today. |
| 5/27/2008 | parent | Though I have heard good and bad about Central Middle School my biggest concern is that the LAB program is based on the MCAS test, which is really geared toward teachers ability to teach not the childs ability to learn. I think that the LAB program shoud be based on the individual child, their ability in class their term reports and thirdly the MCAS can also be a factor. I also think that LAB should be offered to all middle schools throughout Quincy. |
| 10/30/2007 | student | Awesome, excellent, outstanding, amazing, the best. Espicially 7th grade |
| 3/20/2005 | parent | Central Middle School is an excellent school! All teachers are highly educated and truly care about the well being of their students. Also, they have many after school activities that every child is free to join or tryout. I have had a personal experience with the drama program. Every student in that play puts in their best effort and both teachers, who are helping out with the play, are open to help you at any time. On then education front, Central is very concerned about each and every students grades and test scores. The only thing that bugged me was how much pressure was put on the MCAS. I felt that they were taking time out of my school day to focus on a test that is based on previous education. In conclusion, Central is a wonderful school that has many after school options and has a fabulous teaching staff. |
| 3/14/2005 | student | It is a very good school, with excellent extracuriculum activities, such as drama or sport teams. It also has a gifted Advanced Placement program. I suggest that if you are to enroll your child in a school in Quincy, enroll them at Central. |
