2/1/2010parentI am a parent of three children at Our Lady of the Valley and the quality of the education is top-notch. It is a hidden gem in the Blackstone Valley. The middle school academy is worth exploring for any parent concerned about the middle-school years. The comraderie amongst the children, even between grades, is wonderful. There are plenty of opportunities in athletics and extra-curriculars, and of course the religious aspect is well worth it. The price is reasonable as well.
12/21/2009parentI have children at OLV and I have no complaints about the quality of the education they are receiving. They are way ahead of their peers at public school. But, not all of the teachers at OLV are at the same caliber, which can make for some challenging years. The comradeship and values the students have are exceptional. The small class size can be a bonus or a handicap, depending on the child and their personality. Sports teams and extracurricular activities are limited, due to the small school size. But the individual teacher attention is amazing.
12/1/2009parentThe OLV Middle School Academy is terrific! Each student has a laptop of their own (provided by the school) and most assignments are completed electronically and submitted to the teachers. Top notch education.
12/1/2009parentMy daughter has been at OLV since Kindergarten and is now in 7th grade. The school has a tremendous faculty and our new principal has brought a new vision to the school which is exceptional! We have been very pleased with our choice to keep her at OLV.
11/16/2009parentWe love OLV! The teachers, the principal and all the wonderful parents that make this learning experience exceed anything the public schools have to offer. We look forward to 5 more great years at this fine institution.
9/24/2009parentThe teachers are still wonderful at this school. They are the only reason our children still attend. The new principal is trying to turn this into a public school which is disappointing. Our old principal would be very disappointed.
8/14/2009parentmy children attended OLV in Uxbridge for 3 yrs, the 2nd year the school got a new principal and the whole school suffered because of it, what a disappointment!
7/3/2009parentWe have 2 children who are current students at OLV who love their school, their teachers and their principal. We as parents find that their education at OLV far exceeds public education and other comparable private schools in the area. We also love the families - its a great community of people. We like that they are committed to teaching values and helping us raise moral young adults.
4/23/2009parentMy daughter is enrolled for the first year Pre-K class. We are really excited to be so lucky as to have the oppertunity to go to such a wonderful school. And, I do agree it IS the best kept secret in the Blackstone Valley.
2/27/2009parentI have 2 children at OLV and feel so lucky to have found this school when I had moved to the area. The quality of the education that my kids are getting far exceeds what my older child had received from another school not that long ago. The children are taught to be good people in addition to being taught good study/organization habits that will last a lifetime
10/10/2008parentI have a son at OLV and I cannot say enough good things about the quality of education he is receiving, the standards of discipline he is learning, the christian values the school in imparting, and the level of extracurricular opportunity that is offered. I am proud of the young man my son is becoming, and it exceeds even the highest standards of achievement in all areas my wife and I have set for our children. The OLV experience provides great opportunities regardless of one's proficiency--academic, artistic, athletic, leadership, or civic. Don't let the size of the school or price tag fool you--this is a first rate education, catholic or non-catholic, and I'd put our graduates up against those in the wealthest Massachusetts communities.
2/25/2006former studentThis school is truly the best-kept secret of the Blackstone Valley! The principal takes the time to get to know each of the students personally and treats both students and staff with immense respect. My OLV education has helped me to succeed immensely in high school. The class sizes are small, therefore providing in a truly personal educational experience. The school has a competitive cheerleading squad, basketaball teams, cross country, student council, and National Junior Honor Society. The school would not be possible if it wasn't for the truly generous parents that help to make the school the best it can be. This school is truly the best learning experience that any child could get.
