| 7/31/2006 | former student | I went to this school for 7 years and I am currently moving.... I loved it, and the teachers were very helpful! The only downfall about the entire school was the prices of the sports. I had to quit cheerleading and the dance team due to the prices. Everybody says the teachers are over paid, and if they are it doesn't matter, they have done such a great job teaching us they deserve it. |

The districts' current plight is a result of a football obsessed school board that blew a gross amount of money on football related matters during the late ninties. Why should parents give more money to a school district that has historically bungled finances? |
| 12/23/2005 | parent | My family moved here last year. I am very disappointed. This district seems only interested in money. The millage proposal was voted down last year as was most other districts in Michigan and all sports and other activities were cut even though students were already required to pay a 'pay to participate' fee of $150 the majority of this fee pays for the coaches' salary which is quite high. The teachers in this district are one of the highest paid in the entire state of Michigan but I see no difference between these teachers and the ones from the last district we moved from who have the same education levels. All transportation was cut for grades 7-12 as a shameful tactic to punish the parents over the millage not passing. It seems most of the money in this district goes to pay overpriced teachers. I will be sending my kids elsewere! |
| 4/10/2005 | parent | I graduated from Jefferson High School many years ago and my daughters attended the school for approximately 4 years. Like many other school districts that were affluent before proposal A, Jefferson has suffered financial hardship recently. Unfortunately, many parents blame the school system or the teachers when student's scores are low. Factually, the lack of parental input often is the root cause for the student's low score. Jefferson educationally is a fine school suffering from a poor state funding agenda. |
| 3/2/2005 | former student | I attended Jefferson Schools for pre-school and all the way through my senior year. I graduated from Jefferson High School in 2003 with honors. I have received an excellent education and I am currently doing very well at the collegiate level. I am offended to hear that my mother, a teacher in the Jefferson District, is 'paid too much'. My mother has a Master's Degree in Education and is required to take college courses every five years just to maintain her teaching license. It is the fault of Proposal 1 as well as the members of the Jefferson community for the loss of some programs for students. The failure to renew a $3.1 million millage is what lead to the cuts in the schools. Please check into this great school before looking elsewhere. |

They pay their teachers more than most yet they have taken everything away from the children and caused parents a huge dent in their wallets. They closed the rec-center down and did not refund membership money to people who paid for membership just 2 wks before they closed.If you look at the state scores these teachers are being paid way too much. |
