| 6/5/2005 | parent | Two of our three children require special education services. We pulled our kids from a charter school, where we fought constantly to have them evaluated for their disability. The care and concern of the teachers is incredible. No one can say they don't know what's going on, because there are so many different means of communicating. Not every system fits every person's needs, but the staff and educators at Sparta Middle School go out of their way to do everything possible to make your child's education fun and rewarding. |
| 4/28/2004 | parent | My child is a special education student at sparta middle school and I am finally learning that SMS is not the greatest place to have a student with special needs. I am at the point where I feel that my child is being discriminated against by the school staff because he is a 'problem' student. The staff does not seem to have the know how or the training to deal with certain learning handicaps and choose to send the child home on an almost daily basis instead of looking for different avenues to alleviate the problem. I feel that if were to have kept my child out of school as much as they have sent her home I would probably be facing a jail sentence. |
| 2/23/2004 | parent | Sparta Schools are safe and on the cutting edge of technology, despite having out-dated buildings. The administration is in tune with today's academic requirements and the teaching/advisory staff is exemplary. Our two children attend SMS and both are challenged and rewarded by their teachers. Extra opportunities are available for those with the drive and interest. |
| 8/25/2003 | parent | Our 4th child is entering Sparta Middle School this year. After many years of working to improve communications from school to parents and setting up a parent advisory board, this school this school has been a good fit for our children |
