9/13/2012parentI cannot say enough good things about this school...both my sons attended from pre school through 5th grade and created wonderful memories...the education, structure, teachers, and tradition are just to name a few of the reasons we loved this school...both me and my sons also created friendships of a lifetime...I will forever recommend Mountain View Lutheran whenever given the opportunity! We miss it so!!!
7/29/2012parentI have never seen a dirty restroom or classroom AND while you can't please everyone, I think the staff AND the principal do a great job!
7/28/2012parentWe had two children in this school. After being disappointed in the reading program we had them tested at a couple of other private schools. Though the children both had straight A's, they tested at the 50-75% level at the other schools for Reading. After months of tutoring, they both passed into the other schools. Other factors that were not satisfactory were the cleanliness of the classrooms and restrooms as well as the professionalism of the principal and regular fundraising / dontation requests.
6/8/2012parentOUTSTANDING! And they really love the kids. Great school. Any child would benefit by attending Mountain View.
6/5/2012parentLove the school. I know my children are in good hands after I drop them off. Every teacher knows every student and not just in their class. When my son was in kindergarten and we went to a play at the junior high, children who had the kindergarten teacher ran up to him to see and talk to him. The strong leadership and mentoring followed these kids for years, as too for my children. I must say the math is top notch. Not only are they getting a good education, but an extended family.
6/5/2012parentMVLS is the greatest school! My son attended school at Mountain View from kindergarten through fifth grade and enjoyed every minute of it. The teachers are phenomenal, the support staff is great, and the principal is top notch. The classroom size is small and the children are challenged. The parent involvement is so incredible. It is like an extended family. The art teacher is so amazing! The kids learn so many things in her class. You will be amazed. The teachers are very focused on the children. In my son's fifth grade class the teacher noticed that some kids were excelling in math so she had another math teacher come in and challenge those kids with higher math so that she could concentrate on the other students that needed a little more help. Amazing! My son loved going to school everyday. He is now at Faith and I can honestly say that Mountain View prepared him very well for his new school. This school will exceed all your expectations and will be the best thing you can do for your child's education.
6/5/2012parentWe had a wonderful experience at this school in the past eight years with our two children. We will miss this community/environment.
6/4/2012parentMy children have just finished another fantastic year at Mountain View Lutheran School and we are looking forward to another great year ahead. Both of my children are performing far ahead of their peers in public schools and, most importantly, they are happy to go to school every day. My children have grown a lot from their participation in extra curricular activities after school, such as sports, drama club, and band. Parents are very involved in the school. We love Mountain View and would recommend it to any of our friends!
6/4/2012parentAs a parent of a kindergartner I was apprehesive to separate from my child. I can truly say the kindergarten teacher put my mind at ease. I visited and observed and this teacher is very nurturing. He seems to know the children, Gets to really know them, and still teaches them in a fun way. The kids respond to him well. They learn, are happy to be in his class and above all, they learn to be good people. I have recommended this school and kindergarten class to many of my friends.. I will be sending my child to this school from now on, and feel blessed for the contribution the kindergarten teacher has had in forming my child.
6/4/2012parentI can not say enough amazing things about MLVS. My child has been in the school for 3 years, attending two years of preschool and just finishing up Kindergarten. The Teachers and Staff are amazing and my children will continue with the school through 5th grade. You could not make a better choice in a school for your little one. They are cared for, attend to, and most importantly are safe. Their reading and math programs are also AMAZING. My child is reading, writing, spelling, and completing math assignments that her cousin in second grade needs help with, not bad for a 5 year old! I truly can not wait for my youngest child to be able to start in the program!
6/4/2012parentThis is a fabulous school with amazing teachers! My 3 children are receiving an excellent education at Mountain View from teachers who are truly interested in their success. The school has small class sizes and a community feeling. I have found it to be the perfect mix of high academic standards within a safe and nurturing environment. I researched several other private schools before choosing Mountain View and I am convinced that I made the right choice. I'm so thankful to have found this school!
6/4/2012parentMountain View Lutheran School has been an outstanding school for all three of my children. We started at this school in preschool and fell in love with the teachers, the environment, and their commitment to every child. All three of my children have different levels of abilities and needs and Mountain View was able to meet each one exactly where they needed. I love the small community and attention my children always receive. My children have had wonderful life experiences participating in sports, clubs, and countless other after school activities. I know my children are loved by the staff and truly love and care about educating children. This is a most awesome school!
6/4/2012parentMountain View isn't just a school but a family! My child is excited to get up in the morning for kindergarten. I am so prould of how much she has accomplished this past year in reading, writing, spelling and math. I continue to be impressed in the Christian young lady she is becoming. Through out the year I have watched as the teachers treat my child as if she was one of their own. I had the opportunity to participate as a parent helper. It brought joy to my heart to see how the children respected and loved the kindergarten teacher and were so eager to learn from him. I thank all the teachers for a wonderful school year. Althought it saddens me to move on to 1st grade, I know that my child will continue to learn from teachers who honestly care about her and her success. We would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for an outstanding Christian school.
6/4/2012parentFrom the first moment I walked into Mountain View Lutheran I was blown away. The amount of love and genuine caring has kept us there for the past three years. My son claims to be a reading machine thanks to his kindergarten teacher. My daughter is starting kindergarten next fall and we could not be more excited. I found all the teachers and staff easy to speak with and very accessible. I recommend MVLS to anyone looking for a quality Christian education. My family is blessed to have found them.
6/4/2012parentExcellent school..Excellent teachers! We started at Mountainview on the preschool side and instantly fell in love with the school. My daughter is finishing her Kindergarten year and we could not not be more happier with how much she has learned and how amazing the kindergarten teacher is. My daughter is getting an amazing eduation and goes to school each day happy to be there eager to learn. A great school and we feel very blessed to be a part of the Mountainview family.
1/6/2012parentAmazing, What a wonderful preschool full of love and support. The teachers and staff are top notch, and personal at the same time. Our son attended preschool at Mountain View last year and we made the mistake of enrolling him in public school this past fall. Big mistake! Thankfully we were able to identify the extreme change in him and come back to open arms. I will forever be grateful for the unconditional love, and concern for our son. God Bless
8/20/2011teacherI love working at Mountain View Lutheran School. The parents and students are great! The parents are very warm and generous. They are friendly toward one another and build strong and lasting friendships. The children are wonderful, too. It makes me happy to be a part of such a wonderful place. We have many exciting things planned for the upcoming year and I look forward to working with all of our wonderful staff, students, and their parents!
8/20/2011otherI am a student at Mountain View Lutheran School. I like that we have a school economy and you can buy things at Market Place. I like when we do games in the classroom to help us learn about stuff. I love doing experiments. The teachers are awesome. They're fun. The clubs are fun. My favorite club is Drama Club. The kids are nice.
10/7/2010parentMountain View Lutheran is an excellent school! We have recently moved to the area and the teachers could not be more supportive. They have a vested interest in the children and truly care about them. They offer extracurricular activities, such as karate and dance! I am excited to continue to be involved with this school for years to come!
10/29/2009parentI am so happy at MVLS. The teachers post several times through out the week of conferences that they can meet with you. They take the time to tell in details how they are going to help your child. It is a loving and caring place.
7/15/2009parentI cannot say enough good things about Mountain View Lutheran Preschool and Elementary School and I have 2 children that have been attending for three years. I am a hands on parent who volunteers, is a room mom and has only seen the incredible love and concern for my children by every member of staff from the Pastor to the custodians. They care about their kids and they treat them like they are special individuals. I have been enrolled in 3 other private schools and was so relieved when I found Mountain View because I knew it was the last place I'd have to look. My only regret about the school is that it doesn't go to 8th grade. This is a fantastic school that teaches our children about academics, life, faith, and being good citizens.
7/14/2009parentI have two children who have been in the school for 5 years. It has been a wonderful experience. All the teachers know the children and take an interest in them. The academic programs are strong and the teachers work with each individual child. My kids have excelled at Mountain View. We're looking forward to another great year!
7/14/2009parentThis is a wonderful, affordable private Christian school. Class sizes are small, teachers are hands-on and the new principal is qualified and committed to helping the students achieve their maximum potential. In addition to strong academics, this small school offers big-school amenities including a ranked Jump Rope team, competitive sports (volleyball, basketball, football), a music program, science, art and social studies fairs, a wonderful Harvest Festival and this school is the home of the Lutheran Schools Spelling Bee! The PTA is invested and engaged and the parents and staff are easy to work with. My daughters attended MVLS from pre-school through 5th grade and are now excelling at Faith Lutheran. The good news is that this school still has openings for fall!
7/14/2009parentBoth of my children attend MVLS. I have one entering her fourth year and one entering his third year. We moved over from another preschool because we were looking for the loving, nurturing and family like environment that we have found at Mountain View. Everyone knows everyones' name and the staff and faculty make it a point to learn about every child, not just their own. They are both receiving an appropriately challenging education and I am always reminded of their commitment to my children in through their actions and love.
7/14/2009parentMy children loved Mountain View. We have been gone over a year and my children still talk about their teachers and friends, nothing even compairs to what we had there. Mountain View has warm and caring staff and my children were always greated by name. The thing I miss the most is children being taught not only academics but social and life skills as well.
7/13/2009parentMy child has attended 3 years of preschool at MVLS and loved it. Every teacher he had showed love, care and just the right amount of discipline that my child needed. My child grew so....much and I feel is well prepared to start kindergarten. The whole family is very excited for our child to start kindergarten and we can't wait to see the fun and learning that await this year. I love the teachers at MVLS and I know they love my child.
7/1/2009parentI have nothing but praises for MVLS! I have had two children attend this school and have watched countless others through the years. I have NEVER seen nor heard anything but love, praise, and kindness coming from the teachers down through the custodians. The few negative reviews found here have never been seen, heard, or witness by myself or the many friends/parents I know at MVLS. This is a GREAT school! One disgruntled parent should not be a deterrence. Please take the time to check it out for yourself. You won t be sorry.
6/25/2009parentMy child just finished preschool at MVL. Many of the moms looked at me funny when I mentioned my child will not be going back next year. I am certain that the teacher acts a certain way in front of the parents and much differently when alone with the kids. My child would tell me things at home that are not in line with what I saw when i was there. There's a false sense of caring and love for the kids that is presented in front of parents. The learning part is also slow and not stimulating. The kids just 'get through' it and if you're child is bored, she/he is seen as a problem, nver the teacher or the school.
6/13/2009parentThe idea that the preschool uses humiliation for discipline is unbelievable! I have found the preschool teachers to be extremely gentle and loving. My children always feel loved at school and are happy to go to school every day. My family is so happy there and we look forward to another great year!
6/7/2009parentpreschool is disinterested in caring for kids when parents are not around. Learning with love and care is not the focus if your child isn't a quiet little mouse, they will be punished and humiliated.
5/4/2009otherPlease do more research before choosing this school. The admininstration is in denial about any shortcomings the school may have and parents with concerns are seem and 'difficult'.
5/4/2009parentNot what it appears to be. All complaints by parents are viewed as unimportant and told their being heard for the first time ever! This is not teh case if you're a parent and decide to start chatting with other parents about issues.
1/15/2009parentWe are so pleased with the preschool program at MVLCS. It is a warm, loving environment with faculty and staff that truly care for each child. We have two children attending the pre-school program, and we hope to continue through the elementary years! Wonderful school, wonderful people, who could ask for more?
10/11/2008parentThis school is simply awesome. Not only does it provide academics at a level high above public school, I used to work there, but it provides the intangible aspect of growing up with community. We are not Lutheran but completely benefit from the religious aspect which emphasis right and wrong and how to treat your neighbor. It is not necessarily the right place if your child has challenges however, in that a private school does not have the resources to service needs, nor is it obligated too.
9/27/2008parentMy son has attended MVLS for two years in preschool and has flourished. The staff is knowledgeable and very caring for each child that walks through the door. Extra effort is given to make sure that the child is well taken care of and happy. Facilities are always clean and parents are very involved! We love it here!
8/21/2008parentFor all you parents who are very happy with Mountain View Lutheran School and Preschool, may i suggest Faith Lutheran when you run out of grades at Mountain View. For grades 6-12, your child will enjoy the same benefits of Mountain View. My daughter started 6th grade at Faith and she loves it. She tells me that she can't wait to go to school the next day! I am a member of Mountain View Lutheran Church and love seeing our children so excited about church and school.......both these schools set the bar extremely high!
6/6/2008parentMLVS is a cut above, caring teachers, awesome staff, they really care about your child we can not say enough good things about pre-school and Kindergarden they are excellent....THANKS MLVS
3/31/2008parentLove, Love, Love this school. We came here two months ago from Challenger and are so much happier. My son is thriving there and is so happy and has made many new friends. The teachers and office staff are the best and so welcoming, a nice change from where we came from. The kids learn and have fun and the parents are treated with respect and welcomed with open arms, again unlike where we came from. I highly recommend this school to everyone.
6/25/2007parentMt View Lutheran excels in their academic programs. The music, art & sports are fabulous. Teacher ratio is perfect. The extra curricular actives available each month are something our entire family looks forward to. Parent involvement is encouraged at the school.
4/26/2007parentWe have two children enrolled. One is in the preschool and one in the elementary. We absolutely love both. It is a wonderful environment. They have made a huge difference in the confidence level of both of our children. The academics are solid. They are not pushed beyond reason. The focus is truly on the whole child. They are extremely family oriented and parents are always welcome. We were enrolled in another private school previously and were not happy. We are thrilled to have found mvls.
1/31/2007parentDefinitely a preschool/Elementary worth looking into.Couln't ask for a better environment and group of adults for my kids to engage with on a daily basis. Preschool is fantastic, truly a safe, loving and learning environment. The elementary side is safe, clean and the Teachers and principal are excellent, fair and informative about your child. Their will always be room for improvement and the principal is open to it, the children seem to be his #1 priority. Parents are welcomed at any given time, and a fair amount of kids feeding into Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr high had no problem making their honor roll, which says a lot for Mtn. Views academics. Would recommend the whole program to any parent.
12/4/2006parentVery few reviews, but, unless someone is disgruntled, or has very unrealistic expectations there is no way MVLS can be regarded as anything but exemplary. First and foremost the school is affiliated with the LCMS and is a feeder to Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr high, so it's main focus is for the whole child with an emphasis on a Christian upbringing. Several 'private schools' offer exemplary academics and have state of the art technology and extra-curricular programs. MVLS is adequate in both areas. Any parent who provides plenty of opportunities for cognitive and physical challenges at home, will be pleased with the above average academic and better than average Christian education offered at MVLS and I might add that the price tag is way lower than the district average for Lutheran Elementary Schools.
9/1/2006parentMountain View is a great school. My child is been enrolled since 2000, and she could not be happier anywhere else. She has always exceeded public school level, and MVLS has reinforce the values that are so important to us as family. The teachers are not only great, but they are always willing to hear a parent's concern. An important fact about this school is that you are always treated as family. We have experienced other shools, and they do not compare to MVLS.
7/22/2006parentThis school has been a big disappointment. Lot s of extra recess time. Curriculum = endless Xeroxed worksheets w/little discussion about the content. (Worksheets also used as punishment.) No attempt to make learning fun/interesting: sprouting seeds, using measuring tools, math games, journals, anything that correlates with learning goals. Reading program = packaged set of workbooks; follow along w/audio tape, complete workbooks exercises. Primers sent home to read with no instruction about vowels or consonant blends, fend for yourself. Repeated discussion with the principal fell on deaf ears. My child is slightly behind public school level, particularly in math. Mediocre school/poor teachers. 1-2 good teachers, especially PK folks.
