The programs that they offer are wonderful, and my daughter has had the best experience. I have 3 kids in this district in Elementary, Middle, and high school. Every moment, every teacher was wonderful and went above and beyond for my kids and many others that I know. My 8 year old is going to the next school in the district, Fountain Woods. We are sad to leave Bernice Young but excited to see what the future holds! I highly reccomend this wonderful community, the schools, and especially the teachers! |
| 6/7/2011 | parent | Absolutely horrible. I have a special needs child and the Director of Special Services is completely hostile, bitter, and unprofessional. Her focus is not the students, but rather the staff. The case management is also horrible. The preschool special ed teacher is great, but she is surrounded by regular educators who are not trained to have special ed kids included. Paraprofessionals are untrained and unsupervised. |

The entire staff make these children feel extremely special with the smiley program. When a student has done something kind, considerate, and/ or 'just the right thing' they are awarded with a paper smiley face. The child is then to take it home and decorate it to bring back to school and hang proudly on the walls. This helps promote confidience and manners that will carry on with them FOREVER!!! This is what makes our school the best and I am also a proud parent of three children that have gone to B. Bernice Youn School. |

Bernice Elementary in Jan. He transferred from another school and I have seen a huge improvement with his learning. I am very happy with the staff there. When I need to speak to someone I can mention my sons' name and they automatically know who I am talking about. The staff there are very personable, kind, and you know they go out of their way to help you with anything you need assistance with. |

They have great programs that are available for all levels of education. The principles are loved and respected by the kids as well as the admiration of the parents. Our inclusion classes are a plus for those who need special education. Their Galaxy program is available for those who require a more challenging day. They have the best teachers I have ever come across.This being the younger childrens school has many benifits. They provide a great baseline education. They provide a loving and careing place for young minds. |
