| 5/25/2009 | parent | This school has been wonderful for my daughter. She enjoys her teachers (especially Mrs. Light) and has gained valuable skills thanks to the dedicated teachers. Furthermore, the administrative staff is both professional and considerate - this is truly a great school. |
| 6/14/2006 | parent | My 7 year old daughter has completed kindergarten and first grade at John Hydock and we are very pleased with the school in terms of the teachers and administration. Both of our teachers have been competant, concerned and more than available to discuss our daughter. |
| 1/10/2006 | parent | John Hydock is K-2. My son is doing well in 1st grade. The academic cirriculum is tough and focused. The trailblazers math program brings algebra, metics, multiplication, addition, subtraction and word problems all together without using ditto sheets while making it a fun experience using everyday objects. My son's math skills are flourishing. The language arts program is also strong. Students are expected to know sight words and be able recognize & spell them in everyday reading and writing. JHES also has a great basic skills program (LEAP). The teachers provide an atmosphere for confidence and a love of learning. Always encouraging to strive for the next level of success without 'pushing' them out of being a child. The principal knows all the kids by name and encourages parent involvement continuously. Communication is constant. She is receptive & reactive to parent concerns and works with you for a successful school environment. |
