3/17/2012otherI went to P.S 17 from K-3rd grade! I loved the time I spent there. It was a great learning experience. I wish to have come back but I'm already in High School. My favorite teacher ever was Mrs. Sanchez! I miss her so much! My music and art teacher were great there too! If I could contact them again, I'd love it with every bit of my heart!
2/13/2012parentThis s a terrible school , a true nightmare !!!!. If you have kid n this school please remove him or her immediately, they are very disorganized nobody helps you there ,I have been trying to request a transfer to another school but denied will have to get legal help to advocate for a simple transfer.
1/13/2011parentThere is no real pre-k criteria, students are generally being observed not taught. My child everyday informs me that she naps, sings and plays with blocks and on the contrary I believe students should be taught how to identify & write their letters, numbers; learn the pronounciation of these letters etc...these are pre-kindergarten activities. In daycare my child was taught her colors and how to write. I feel as if she is still in daycare minus the learning.
5/20/2010parentThe reason to recommend this school for education is because of the consistent discipline, and the educational facilities provided to students.
6/4/2009parentThe teachers at this school are very nice and are always willing to help out. The principal however is a completely diffrent story. She does not listen to you and talks over you. She wants everything done her way. I'm very glad that I now deal with the vice principle. It can't always be done my way but at least she listens to what you have to say.
6/4/2009parentThis school is very disorganized I'm so happy my son is done and my daughter is going to a different school.
9/27/2007parentI think that this school is very well put together/organized. My daughter feels very comfortable here. That makes me feel comfortable.
9/26/2007parentMy son just started. Its was a mess. Disorganized, I was lost. No one helped me. Not helpful at all. We'll see how and if things progress.
2/21/2005parentThis school is very nice. It's convenient for commuters via Light Rail. Drop-off/Pickup is fairly easy as well. They have nice teachers, and encourage a lot if artwork and computer educational exercises, which are very stimulating for the students. My children very much enjoyed the programs there.
6/26/2004parentHaving four children in grades 5,6,7,and 8 I know each has had a good look at the school. I have been told by my children that the school is great and they never want to leave. I know my kids are in good hands beacause I have met their teachers and they are all very good with children and teaching. I love it!
