| 9/26/2009 | parent | The teachers and staff at Union Avenue School are amazing! They see each child as individuals and teach them they way they learn, as individuals, instead of forcing them to conform to one way of learning. They are accessible and they make both my husband and I feel as though we are part of a team in the education of our child. As an educator myself, these traits are of the utmost importance and are priceless. |
| 5/1/2009 | parent | We had a fantastic experience at Union, we entered quickly after fleeing from New Orleans and were so impressed by the school that we stayed in Margate. There is a very high standard and the teachers really work towards making the kids reader ready during kindergarten. Its a very safe atmosphere, they are strict about the rules but probably need to be so that parents do not take advantage...lots of pushy people in New Jersey...the class size continues to be small, the librarian, art teacher are great, as are all of the teachers that we had in the past 4 years and many opportunities for parents to get involved |
| 9/6/2004 | parent | Wow -public school with small class sizes(12-17), great learning enviroment, abundant caring staff and a ciriculum geared toward balanced learning. Exceptional coverage of the basics as well as Spanish, computers, the arts, social skills in a wonderful caring atmosphere. Programs like 'Caught being good' encourage students to be helpful and teach the art of goodness. Small student/staff ratio means the teachers and all school employees get know each kid...more than just by name. It's a school that is a pleasure to visit and encourages parents participation in your child's school life. This school system as well as it's small communities is what keeps us here! |
