Hobbs, NM is a small city in Lea County that offers a variety of educational opportunities for its residents. The local school system includes six elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools and one alternative school. The public schools in Hobbs are rated highly by the state of New Mexico and provide quality education to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Each school offers a range of courses and activities that allow students to explore their interests and develop skills for success in the classroom as well as the real world. With an array of resources available, such as libraries, computer labs, innovative curriculums and extracurricular activities ranging from athletics to music and theater groups, students are provided with an enriching environment in which to learn. In addition to traditional education services, many Hobbs schools offer specialized programs for English Language Learners (ELL) and those with special needs. High academic standards set by the administration strive to ensure every student receives the best possible education within this wonderful community.
