| 6/21/2010 | other | CW Baker was a very good school to attend. While not as diverse as some other schools in the country, the faculty and staff are generally very good and encourage students to take advantage of opportunities to broaden horizons. While I was a student athlete, contrary to some of the other reviews, I didn't feel that I received any special attention from staff. However, I do agree that the music and arts departments do not generally recieve the funding or priority that the sports teams receive. |
| 8/5/2009 | student | Baker High school is definitely a great school to graduate from, but it does cater much more to athletes. Being a musician, the teachers weren't necessarily not as dedicated, but as whole, the music department didn't get as much funding and recognition and we have won more awards than our sports. As far as environment and education, the staff is phenomenal and I felt very safe there. |
| 3/27/2006 | parent | I think that it is easy to get lost in this school unless there is something to make your child a standout. Luckily, my children are athletes, but I feel that without that they would be insignificant and the teachers don't really care or provide much dedication. It is really sad because it is the opposite of the experience the kids have in the earlier grades here in B'ville. Our elementary schools (especially Palmer) are excellent. Parents are encouraged to be involved when the children are young, but only stay involved with the older kids if their kids are in music or sports. The PTA parents tend to be a little bit overbearing and obnoxious, but they mean well. We have a lot of fund raisers early in the year....be prepared. We have very little for gifted students. Our sports programs are pretty good, but some coaching is terrible. |
| 8/19/2003 | former student | Baldwinsville is one of the best high schools out there, few districts are as involved and caring about their students as this one is. Teachers are extremely dedicated to the point they stay long hours after 3:30p and even take their students abroad to countries like France and Spain. Baldwinsville offeres countless opportunities for success and preparation. There is definitely something for everyone. As a recent graduate I can personally attest to the fact Baker more than adequately prepares students for college studies. I honestly can't say enough about the excellent quality of schools Baldwinsville provides! |
| 8/10/2003 | teacher | I have had 2 children graduate and 1 is a senior this year. Baker has provided them with a great education and provided them with a solid preparation for college. |
