| 11/17/2008 | student | Most of the teachers are absolutely fantastic, and work very well with staying in contact with the parents. The high school takes care of bullying in a very professional and efficient way. They bullying will stop about 98% of the time. The only part of the school I don t like is their tendency to give more money to the sports teams than to the science or math departments. However, that is of little concern when you look at our Health teacher, John Perricone. I don t like Health at all, but when I took his class, I was very sad when it was over! I actually wanted to take the class again! Mr. Perricone has a way of just making everyone around him smile or laugh. He s truly an amazing teacher. I feel honored to know, and have been taught by him. Overlooking a few flaws, MEHS is a very good school. |
| 8/11/2004 | parent | On the whole, MEHS provides a well-rounded education, including many worthwhile extra-curricular activities. However, I do agree with the former student who said there are teachers who have their favorite students, usually the 'quick learners', leaving the special ed students floundering and feeling inadequate. More money needs to be spent on special education so that students with learning disabilities have the same opportunities as other students. More teachers and support staff are needed to help, what seems to be, an ever-growing student population. Having said that, I want to stress that there are many teachers, as well as other staff members, who don't hesitate to go the extra mile to help the students at MEHS. |

There are a few teachers that have taken this into their currriculum such as Mrs. Murat and former teacher Mr. Keuy. Both teachers are outstanding and frankly more teachers should take notes on how they teach their class and students. |
| 5/24/2004 | former student | I am a former student (grad 1998) of MESH, and am now working towards my Ph.D in psychology. Thus, I'm experienced primarily with the advanced classes at MESH. The advanced classes were of high quality and I believe they adequately prepared me for classes at SUNY Geneseo, leading to my current graduate studies. However, the teachers tended to have their favorite students, who they tended to concentrate their efforts on, which was a bit discouraging. Also, my sibling used the special education services, and those poor folks are underpaid and seriously overworked. While my education was good, I saw the other side of MESH- the one they don't talk about. Many students need high quality special education classes, and they are tremendously suffering because of inadequate staffing. Stop dumping money into the football team and put some money into education! |
