| 4/26/2012 | parent | Excellent school and hardworking, dedicated teachers who not only have high expectations....they also go out of their way to help their students achieve, despite their abilities. There is always lots, and lots of positive reinforcement and recognition. The curriculums change to meet the NYS standards. I was always amazed at what my kids were learning. My three children went to Barton (from 1997- 2010) and I only have praise for the staff, principal, teachers and school nurse. The PTA is also hardworking and its primary focus is the students. The building is also clean and tidy. |
| 4/25/2010 | other | my grandchild goes here and I feel so safe seeing him go.The security is the best i have ever seen .everyone seems so happy when they go in and when they come out. This is very important to me.i know he'll be safe and happy all day.thanks. |
| 3/1/2009 | parent | I couldn't agree less with the first posting. I have three children, two of whom are currently attending Barton, and one that graduated last year. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about not only the principal, Ms. Soltner, but the teachers as well. My children have done exceptionally well at Barton and that is due to the extraordinary commitment of the teachers and staff. The go above and beyond the call of duty and make me proud to say that I am a Barton parent. |
| 8/31/2007 | parent | My son was at barton for one year..could not wait for him to be out of there. New Principal Ms. Soltner is a cold ,power hungry , drill sergeant type. The am greeter needs a happy pill and my favorite is Susan ODonald, the social worker. She is a pompous, thinks she knows it all, let me not forget rude waste of the tax payers money. Very bad parent cooperation. Faculty shows no respect for parents and that stems right from the top with the new principal. Uncomfortable environment for parents due to nasty attitudes of several staff members, especially the am greeter. Saw many parents berated right in the lobby by certain staff regardless of whomever was standing there. Very unprofessional. |
| 2/21/2006 | parent | Great school! They have great teachers that really care about the education of their pupils. |
