| 10/23/2012 | parent | If I could give negative stars, I would. This is a No Child Left Behind school. So, if you have a child that is ahead, don't count on them to continue. Programs are designed so all students will graduate. Our child has never had below an A until she started attending Howard Hall. Now that we have moved, it has been showing not just our daughter, but our son. Our children was given work that they had previously done from a different school, but instead of the teachers (several) giving them new material to learn, everyone was kept on the same pace. Why, I call it No Child Left Behind. This is even after numerous visits with the teachers and the principals. I learned the hard way why Fayetteville had so many private schools, because the public ones are horrible to say the least. Yes, we spend at least 1 hour per day with our children on schoolwork. |
| 5/18/2012 | parent | I must say I am really impressed with Howard Hall. My son is in third grade and has had an awesome experience this school year. There were a few situations that occurred this school year but were all handled in a professional manner. I love the involvement of the principal and staff. I have twins that will be attending school there next school year. I'm excited to have them entering into the Spanish program for kindergarteners. I love the updates by phone regularly. My son teacher is very enthused about teaching which in turn makes the students excited about learning. When we moved to NC I could not get my son to pick up a book but now I can't get him to put them down. Thanks Howard Hall for your outstanding service this school year. |
| 8/25/2011 | parent | We were some what hesitant coming to this area because of the school. We did not know much. However, we took a leap of faith and are so happy we did. Just as the local communities are experiencing huge growths, so it Howard Hall... BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. All for the good. |
| 12/5/2010 | parent | My son is in the fifth grade and has attended Howard Hall since Kindergarten. The teachers and staff has been an incredible influence in his both his academic development and maturity. The staff makes academic clubs such as broadcast, the BETA club and Quiz Bowl interesting, and encourages friendly competition among classes. The facilities are adequate, but money would be well spent to improve the playground area and the resource lab. The library would also benefit from a bigger budget to update reading materials for the accelerated reader program and replace many books which are falling apart. This school has been extremely military friendly and supportive of issues from multiple deployments. I highly recommend Howard Hall to any incoming military families. |
| 5/3/2010 | parent | I think all the teachers have a very positive attitute towards learning. Everything is bright and cheery in the classrooms! And the dress code is a wonderful way of keeping the children less 'aware' of clothing so they can focus on learning. My only 2 wishes are..and if this school could get extra funding... a better play ground and a separate accelerated learning program for gifted students. |
| 4/28/2010 | parent | The only thing I can say positive is the front office staff is wonderful. We came into the school mid-year after relocated to NC. I made the mistake of asking the principal a question about the dress code. She acted insulted. And don't email or call teachers with questions - you'll never get a response. I guess I will take off work and go to the school so I can ask the teacher for a meeting. I wonder if I can charge her for my time - since she will not respond to my questions via phone or email? However she can call and email me when she needs tissues, paper or hand sanitizer. UNACCEPTABLE. |
| 10/26/2009 | parent | This school is awsome my son has autistic tendancy disorder (simalar to seviere ADHD just less verbal)and here it's no big deal, the teachers are so good with him. It's been wonderful to see him start to really LIKE school, not just resess. |
| 3/11/2009 | parent | Howard Hall is the best school my children have attended. I am in the military and my children have been to schools in Texas, Georgia and two schools in North Carolina. Howard Hall spends the most one on one time with their students. They offer many after school activities, as well. I have been deployed numerous times and Howard Hall has been the only school to offer a program that allows children to express their concerns and feelings to their peers going through the same situations. An awesome school and an outstanding learning environment. |
| 2/3/2009 | parent | Although, I missed the former principal Ms Gordy, the principal, now, Ms Robertson, is trying her ways to improve discipline among the students. I still like the idea of the principal waiting for the kids in the morning and open the car for you, (kiss and go). It is so nice to see the principal and/or the assistant principal to welcome your child having this great feeling he/she will be safe inside. |
| 1/29/2009 | parent | This school has uniform which keeps the students off of there looks and more in the books |
| 9/4/2008 | parent | My son has came here from fl with some behavior problems they have helped me to get him back on track. With out doctors. They have helped him to eccelorate in all his class. |
| 8/18/2007 | parent | My daughter came to Howard Hall mid way thorugh the school year and I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful and easy they made the transition for her. The curriculum is excellent and the open communication I received from her teacher was very good. I cant wait for my son to start kindergarten this fall. |
| 6/2/2005 | parent | Howard Hall is a great school. The staff will embrace you like you are family and your child will feel safe and welcomed. My son has had a great year and is looking forward to the next year. We will be sad to leave in the middle of the year, but we will always be greatful that our son got a good start at Howard Hall. His teacher helped him to experience school like a fun, interesting place and he loves coming to school. We can just hope that our next school is as good as Howard Hall. |
| 5/20/2005 | parent | Parents who appreciate good teachers, caring office staff, and neat ideas will enjoy the smaller sized K-5 Howard Hall. My children (4th and 1st) have worked hard and have made great leaps this year. Their teachers knew them well and were always challenging them, not teaching to a test. The 'specials' are all available and teachers lead extracurriculars such as drama, Battle of the Books, Beta Club etc. without extra pay. It is a good mix of military and civilian parents and evening events have a decent turn out. The library is excellent. The principal is always available and very experienced. No school is perfect, but the Howard Hall environment is friendly and professional and an involved parent will enjoy the school. We are sad to leave it. |
| 8/15/2004 | parent | Howard Hall is a fantastic school. The teachers and staff are woonderful. Your child isn't treated like just another face in the hall, but like one of the family. Your child will be recognized as the individual he or she is. It is a wonderful learning environment. You could not ask for better! |
