8/13/2010parentSFA offers a wonderful education in a beautiful setting for all grades. Middle school students benefit from many seminar offerings and integrated studies. The collaboration with Lourdes College will raise the high standards even higher with wonderful leadership from the Education Department.
5/16/2010parentGrades Kdg, 1st grade and 4th grades are excellent. 2nd & 3rd are horrible. Middle school lacks effective teachers. Most don't even have their teaching certificate. The principal has teachers that are favored and it is a reflection on the education the children receive. Be prepared to have to pay for tutoring in addition to tution. This school is NOT WORTH the amount of money that you pay in tution.
3/2/2009parentMy children began in public school and SFA has surpassed all expectations and challenged my kids and excited them about learning. The dedicated teachers really care about each individual child and help them learn the way they need to as individuals. I know that my kids will be prepared for anything!
11/12/2008parent...a fantastic school with such dedicated teachers and staff. They are all so positive and loving. I have seen my daughter blossom and grow through the years.
10/13/2008parentSFA combines a small size with top-notch academics and amazing parent participation. I am so glad we discovered this school, and my two children have flourished. I have been so impressed with the entire experience. I enthusiastically recommend the school to other parents.
8/17/2008parentPre-school program is amazing!
8/17/2008parentWe have been so happy to be at SFA. Our two children are very different, but both have flourished in the loving environment of this school. If you are looking for a place where your children will feel part of a family, in the classroom, on the playing field and in a diverse range of extra-curricular activities, you should consider SFA. We have to make sacrifices to pay for tuition, but you get what you pay for, and where my kids are concerned, I'll gladly do without some other extravagance.
8/1/2008parentSFA is one big happy family. We are a close group where everyone is genuinely accepted for who they are! My children and I have been a part of SFA for 7 years. Each of my children have different needs that have been addressed and supported in appropriate ways. The staff and faculty are the best of the best. Students are cared for by everyone! I would feel safe leaving my kids with anyone at SFA, teachers, staff, and other parents.
7/31/2008parentSFA is a happy school! The entire staff is loving, kind, and dedicated to the well-being of each child. The parent participation is exceptional. Our children always looked forward to school. What a gift!! They were more than prepared for high school, but they often go back to visit their 'home'.
7/25/2008parentSFA is a gem of a school...If you are looking for a small, safe, family-friendly, Catholic experience for your children, this is the best choice. SFA has an outstanding middle school math and science faculty/program, beautiful building/campus, superb athletic directors, involved parents, and a dedicated, caring faculty.
7/24/2008parentWe have been with SFA for 9 years and feel that it has been a great fit for all three of our children, even with their varying personalities and academic abilities. The teachers and administration have always had great communication with us as parents when there was anything to discuss. It is a very caring school community.
7/24/2008parentWe have been with SFA for 9 years and have nothing but good things to say! As working parents we do not have a lot of time to participate in classroom activities but that is not a huge factor. I think it is great that there are parents that are able to help out if possible but it is not made to feel mandatory. We love the family atmosphere and have made many friends as a result of this. We have 2 major fundraisers. The first is a magazine sale and the second is an annual auction. It's a great way to meet other families and have a fun night out! For a small catholic school not support by a parish I think this is amore than reasonable way to make money. We have four more years to spend at SFA and we're looking forward to every minute of it!
7/24/2008parentWe were a new family last year and were made to feel very welcome. Sylvania Franciscan Academy is a diverse, open, loving, caring, hands-on school. I love the fact that the parents are encouraged to be an active part of their childs' education. This should be mandatory in ALL school's. Maybe our world will become a better place when we actually raise our kids. All in all, this school is absolutely wonderful and I couldn't imagine my kids at a different school. You get what you give in life, and this goes for your children's education as well.
7/24/2008parentI have two students at SFA, the third is starting preschool there, and both are very differnt students but they each have received tailored, individual attention. The staff, teachers, and parents are caring, warm and create a nuturing environment in which our children learn and gain confidence to be who they are. We love SFA!
7/24/2008parentThe best educational experence in Northwest Ohio My daughter recived a great education
7/24/2008parentWe did not start out at SFA , we came in at middle school and any parent knows how hard that can be for a child . Well let me tell you it was an awesome experience for our child and us.Our child has some learing issues and we talked about them and they did a great job helping our child in anyway they could. The staff and parents alike are caring freindly and they really care about each and every student . They are small and mighty with a whole bunch of heart. The education is super and they are very ready to step into High School with no problems . Take a tour a see for yourself what SFA has to offer .
7/21/2008parentSFA is a wonderful place were my children are nurtured and cared for by their classmates, administration and teachers alike. There is a true sense of family at SFA and all who enter are welcomed with open hearts. My children are recieving a top notch education and are growing in confidence and values each day.
4/13/2008parentI can't say enough good things about this school! I love the small size and individual attention each child receives. Its academics are unmatchable. As a weekly center helper in the classroom I can personally say that the children all get along well with one another (boys and girls alike) and the teaching staff help each child reach their potential. I love knowing every child in my son's class as well as their parents. Yes, it is close knit school, and that's one of the things I love about the school. In my opinin, there is no better school in the area.
3/28/2008parentI was really disappointed with the lack of care or concern available to a struggling child. It is a close knit school and it relies heavily on parent participation. This is great in theory but not every parent can offer time during a work day. It is of my opinion that this school is looking for a certain type of student. I would caution any parent considering this school: 'Is your child perfect? Can you volunteer much of the time your child is there? Will you be able to donate large sums of money for a multitude of fund raisers? Then this is your school.
7/26/2007parentOverall I think the school is good. In my opinion the school puts test scores above what is best for the students. I think SFA takes advantage of parents trust. For children that are naturally book smart it is a good school but if your child is a little bit slower there is a very good chance you will be approached to have them tested for ADD/ADHD. You know your child ! Think!
