I think the teachers really care about the education of their students and strive to give them the best. If I had children I would send my kids to this school. |

We did and now we regret it and we are even thinking of selling just to get out of the school. Yes, it's really that bad and all the other comments I read are all true. I think I know who the Kindergarten teacher was that wrote that, since the school has only been open one year and she is a great lady, and she speaks the truth! I gave it one star, just because you have to ...It deserves none. |
| 5/1/2008 | teacher | I was a kindergarten teacher here my very first year of teaching, lets just say it was the WORST expereince of my life and i quickly ran for the door on the last day of school. I LOVED my kids more than anything, they were terrific, in much need of love, but the sweetest most fun children i have ever worked with....the principal was a disgrace, my 1st year of teaching went unguided, unsupported and actually was sabotoged by the principal. it is very sad the way this school is run and the lack of love for teaching and children is shown throughout the school, it was extremely depressing and sad that children will have to call going to this school a part of thier life, they deserve so much better. |

There are many instances where there are a lack of teachers, and principals for that matter.Substitute teachers were in constant supply and the children where not being taught the appropriate curriculum and were falling behind. Unfortunately, there is an abundance of behaviour problems at this school and the teachers have a problem controlling the issues. When there are good teachers employed, the are lost because of the lack of support from the principal/school and they leave. Please think twice before you enroll your children into this school. |
| 5/25/2004 | parent | I have worked with this school (Oakridge) the best of my abilities as a parent to provide my child an equal/good education. I do not feel this school has fulfilled my expectations or should I say, I do not feel the school system has met my expectations. I feel some teachers there spend more time in the office on the phone calling parents about petty things then they do in class teaching the kids. Plus, who is teaching the class while the teacher is out making these phone calls? Also what I dislike is when a teacher there told me how much better another parent does with their child then I do with mine. Please don t compare a parent s ability with another parent one, we all do things differently. I can go on and on about my experience with this school but it will be a waste of time to do so. To sum it all up, my child only goes to Oakridge because of the area I live in, if that was not the fact I would of sent him to another school years ago or if I could afford a private school, I will go that route |
