| 1/28/2007 | parent | I've have four kids in this school for 12 years, and once upon a time we had a lot more parent involvement. About three years ago things unraveled due to a lack of funding that impacted rural schools. If your really into sports and don't mind being shorted academic services such as tag program or AP course work then this is the place to be. Most of the community involvement centers around sports, its everything to this community. If your looking for your kids to be college ready well you better work with them at home because this place is only looking to meeting the norms NCLB and test scores are everything. We have a huge population of reduced lunch so our priority is meeting the needs of those students doing the bare minimal. I just want to give it to you honestly. Nestucca needs improvement. |
| 1/15/2007 | parent | I have 2 children attending NVES this year. The teachers are wonderful and the art programs offered are outstanding. Thank you NVES for providing such a wonderful atmosphere and education for my children. |
| 8/30/2005 | parent | Nestucca has a wonderful music program and dedicated music teacher. It is a small rural school. Most of the teachers are really great and work hard to work with each student. Unfortunately, over the past 5 years there have been exceptions and each of my children had to endure a difficult year with teacher. There has been a lot of administrative changes. The past few years have been problematic but as of 04-05 things are definately improving. |
| 4/25/2005 | parent | Good small country school feeling. Old school building, but functional. Music and sports are there, at the level of a small school. They take field trips regularly, depending on the budget. Very open to parent involvement and visiting. |
