7/1/2009teacherI was a long-term substitute at this school. It was my first teaching experience and at first it was a complete mess, as most first experiences go. However, I loved the students. And many members of the faculty were willing to help me out. I really felt like I made a difference among the students, and it was the best feeling. I love this school. <3
10/24/2008studentIf people would just look at the big picture, they would see there are many talented, well-rounded kids in this school district who will go on to do great things.
3/2/2008otherI feel that the lack of success of the students who attend this district falls mostly on the parents. Sure, some of the teachers do lack motivational skills. However, when faced with the fact that they do not have any support from the parent/parents and the students bad attitude towards education, their hands are completely tied.
8/8/2007studentI believe there is to much drama in the Brownsville Area. They notice it and do not take care of it emediatally. There is wonderful teachers there to help, some others as the principal do not help much as to solving anything.
6/20/2007former studentI do not feel I was prepared for college but reflecting back I do believe Brownsville has or had quality, caring, personable teachers. I believe the staff through out the district instilled in me the belief that i could rise above my enviroment. I did encounter many of the pitfalls associated with brownsville but I can directly contribute my current success to teachers in elementary and Highschool. Most noteably Irene Campagna.
6/12/2007former studentI am a proud to say that I am graduate of Brownsville. I was more than prepared for college and I am currently enrolled in a master's degree program. Any student that is ill-prepared for secondary education or a career can only blame themselves for not taking a more active role in their education!
1/19/2005former studentBeing a Graduate of this school, I feel that Brownsville did not prepare me for college, nor a professional field. The students as well as the teachers have no motivation. I understand that Brownsville is a poor community, but that should be a motivation to get students to grow and achieve more. Most graduates of this high school simply stay there working low wage jobs. I feel that the teachers need be more motivational. I think Brownsville future depends on it.
9/9/2003parentI do not know why they do not do on the spot drug testing for all athletes and COACHES. Drugs have been a big problem in Brownsville. Should Athletes and/or Coaches be on the team if they are doing drugs?
