9/14/2009parentThree of my children are graduates of Upper Dublin High School. All of them have had tremendous success at the college and professional level because of the quality of education that UDHS delivers.
1/16/2007former studentI have seen many different school districts and by far, Upper Dublin is the best. Although the facility is in need of repair, plans are underway for exactly that. After reading an article listing the top schools in the nation, I was extremely surprised that Upper Dublin did not show up. In my opinion, it is most certainly better than some that did make it onto the list. Please, Upper Dublin is the best place to send your child.
7/5/2004parentUDHS is a terrific school with high academic standards for children who do not have any special needs and have a learning style that fits well in a large classroom and big school environment. However, it is severely lacking in special education. Personal experience has found responsiveness untimely, inappropriate and therefore ineffective. If your child has a special need, I would not recommend this school. Unfortunately, for such a wealthy school district, expertise lies more in knowing how to keep your child from receiving any resources that may cost extra or may require outside services due to the inavailability at the school. As unfair as it is, in the long run, going outside the system will be more beneficial to your child unless you can afford legal counsel.
6/21/2004former studentUD is a fantastic school district. The focus on academics was great, and it was a fun competitive environment. When I left high school there, several local secondary schools such as Temple actually mentioned to me how folks graduating form UDHS were respected. Also, the extracurricular activities were terrific. Two that I was very involved with, music and running (xcountry, indoor & outdoor track) had dynamite instructors/coaches who really helped out students in many ways, and each program had more than it's share of high achievers as measured state wide. Besides the major extracurriculars, there were many academically focused clubs (international club, ecology club) and some activities not necessarily common to every high school available to students (hockey, golf, fencing). I am very happy I attended in that district, and would send my own children through the UD system in a heartbeat.
