Despite their highly lauded Discovery program, at least one of my children is bullied several times each week, often with the teachers nearby and turning a deaf ear and a blind eye. My youngest was sent home with a family friend after a school activity without my permission. My second child's bus driver has had two accidents in three years in which my child was injured and late returning home--nobody called us and nobody provided care. One principal is stereotypical politician--we get blown off. Some teachers never respond to phonecalls/emails. |
| 6/7/2004 | student | Halifax Middle School is a wonderful place for kids to learn about charactor. They have a fantastic Discovery program in which the kids learn things such as responsiblity. What is really amazing about this school is that all three grades get along like they are in the same grade. There are no bullies or older kids making fun they get along quite well especially because of the Discovery groups. In Discovery they play inturmural games, play games, and have a performing arts thing and all of them make them work together. I think with what I've heard everyone loves it there and gets along great so I highly, highly reccomend it! |
