8/11/2012parentMy child has attended HBCA since 2nd grade and this school has been such a blessing to her and our ENTIRE family. If there is an issue best believe they are on the job. The teachers are wonderful and they see to it that children with learning issues are being adequately helped. There have been a couple new teachers that "would not be returning" after one year. I personally think it's because they did not deliver. One thing that we as parents are a little tired of is the fundraising (smile) but that is in place to keep activities free or at a very low cost . Keep in mind this is private and privately funded so there is no state help. I would recommend this school to any family who wants to instill Christ and the real world and not just religion. I could never thank these people for what they have given my child. We love our Holmesburg family!
4/23/2012parentMy son has been attending HBCA for 6 years. The staff is wonderful!! They are very caring and show it to the students. I wouldn't want my son at any other school. I'm thankful for a safe place for my child, where Jesus is taught.
3/29/2012teacherPerhaps there is a reason this teacher is no longer at the school and it has nothing to do with the quality of the school. I hope people who read the previous statement read between the lines.
3/28/2012teacherI taught at this school for a while and it has gone down dramatically. It's a shame.
2/16/2012parentDO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! The staff at this school does not care about the children, only when they will receive their next tuition payment. They don't take action on serious matters. the whole staff are friends with eachother and I have caught them even talking bad about parents and children. NOT WORTH THE MONEY, POOR TEACHER QUALITY. I have removed my kids from this school a year ago I they are much happier at their new school, and so am I.
1/16/2011parentHolmesburg Baptist Christian Academy has been a blessing to me and my family. The teaching staff, support staff and Administration go beyond what is required of them professionally. They care about the whole child and the whole family. My two children are growing, academically and spiritually, in ways that public school and other private schools cannot measure up too. H.B.C.A. is every parents' dream.
5/20/2010parentI had two children attend Holmesburg Baptist Christian Academy. After they graduated they often commented how well H.B.C.A. prepared them for high school. They are now in college and I credit H.B.C.A with their continued success. H.B.C.A. is a secret that needs to be told!
4/20/2010parentHBCA provides a high quality education with strong Christian values . The students and teachers are like family and the faculty genuinely cares for each student . The small class size environment fosters a close relationship between student and teachers.
2/22/2010parentThis is a great school! The staff and students and parents are all like one big happy family! When you send your child to HBCA,not only is your child getting a great education but they are taught wonderful christian values1The children are sweet .The staff and teachers genuinly care about their students. The art teacher is wonderful and now they even offer summer art camp1Send your child here...you will not regret it!
1/21/2010parentThis school is absoluteely wonderful! Staff are very involved and caring (genuinely). Some invite their children and their families to their home for summer BBQs and their weddings! They celebrate your child's success in national winnings of art contests by joining the ceremony on their days off! There share their private home and cell numbers to thee parents:-) The parents are awesome too and everyone I have met has been more than happy w/ the cirriculum and w/ the CHristianity they are surrounded by. It's not a question of 'Can we afford this for the children?' It's more like 'How can we/I not?' Consider HBCA:-) It would be the best move you made.
9/19/2009parentThis is a great small school. The teacher's are great and are open minded to children with learning disablities. They do provide services but are limited.
6/5/2009parentI love this school! The teachers and administration truly care about the students and work hard to help each student. I am especially impressed with the amount of Biblical knowledge they teach. As for 28 kids, I'm not sure what the poster is referring to. Most classes have 15-20 students.
4/6/2009parentWhen I initially sent my child to HBCA, I was like any parent wanting the best for their child, however HBCA did not deliver. There is a total lack of management from the administrators to the teachers. When there is a situation that calls for action or answers all they can provide is excuses. If you can, save your time and money because HBCA is not worth effort.
1/16/2009studentIf you're looking for a school that witholds academic and spiritual teachings, this is you're jackpot. I'm a graduate of HBCA (2008) andi have been in that school for over 10 years. I can tell you that I had made many friends and learned more and more about God every day. Your child will be blessed if they were to go there. They have a gret staff and all the kids are like one big family. If I were amazed by this school, you will too.
10/8/2008parentI have enrolled my child in the pre-k program and can already, in October of the school year see great progress. She is confident and eager. The teacher is very caring about everything that has gone on in the child's life. I feel I made an excellant choice in HBCA.
9/18/2008parentLove this school. My son has been there for 5 years and it has helped him grow academically and spiritually. One more thing, I have never seen a class with 28+ kids. I cannot speak for preschool but from 3rd to now 7th grade we have had 20-22. Much better than the 30+ that you hace in public/schools.
8/26/2008parentI'm not impressed. The classes are very over crowded. 30 kids per class, 1 teacher, no aids. They will tell you that it's 'Only temporary', but my daughter has been there 2 years in a row and both years her class has been 28+ kids. Not worth the money.
2/19/2008otherI attended Holmesburg Baptist Christian School for 1 year then I moved, but in that time I became more social and the Students are very nice they were very accepting of new children. The techers are very nice and make learning fun. At my new school everthing that I learned at HBCA has helped me with what I am learning now. Even though I am in public school now The religious teachings are helping me with everyday decions.
10/22/2006former studentHi I am a former student of HBCS and when I went to the school it was a very good school. We had alot of fun things and it really made you ready for highschool. I now attend Central Highschool and it is not as challenging as it would have been if I had gone to a different school.
5/12/2005parentHolmesburg Baptist Christian School maintains a high academic standard and a strong spirtiual base. They have reinforced the Christian values that we desire to instill in our children. We thank God for Holmesburg Baptist Christian School.
3/15/2004parentMy daughter has been going to Holmesburg Baptist since 1st grade. I feel that educationally and spiritually my daughter has grown by being a part of the Holmesburg family. I highly recommend this school to others.
9/9/2003parentThis is a wonderful school. My son has been there 4 yrs now and he loves it! The teachers and staff and wonderful. It's like one big happy family!
