| 8/20/2012 | parent | My daughter went to school here for 3 years. The students are very friendly but it seemed like it was an empty school and nobody knew each other. |
| 1/10/2012 | parent | I am very unhappy with the student to teacher ratios. My son is in the 2nd grade and there are 34 kids in his class ( was supposed to be 35 but one left) with a new young teacher and no aids to help her. She trys but when I am paying for a school I think the ratios should be better. It is unacceptable and I feel that my son should be getting the attention and education we pay for. When I expressed my concerns to the principal she said that they will not be getting an assistant for the room and in a nice way told me if I don't like it find another school. She is very lucky finding another school in this neighborhood is not the easiest but he will definitely not be going there next year. |
| 11/23/2011 | parent | Both of my daughters go to this school and I can't say enough good things about it. The teachers are wonderful; the principle is very involved and caring. I pray they stay open so both of my girls can graduate. |
| 5/29/2009 | parent | My child has been going to St. Helena's School evr since he was 3 years old. My other also went to St. Helena's until his recent illness. From my personal experience I am very, very please about the education my child is recieving. But it is not just the education, it is the warm and loving kindness that is given to the children. These teachers put their heart and soul in educationing and protecting the child. You will not find that in any school. Now as them being concerned about the school closing, no matter what happens in this economy the love these teachers, faculty and staff have for these children will continue. St. Helena's have given their heart and soul into these children and they will continue until Our Savior Jesus Christ comes |
| 1/21/2009 | other | My niece and nephew go to this school and I think it is a great school for them. I believe the teachers do try their best but sometimes need to be a little more patient with the students or give the gifted ones more work to do so that they do not get themselves in trouble. I think the principal is a little hard on some of the students. Overall compared to some of the other available options this school does wonders. It is a catholic school so there will always be funding problems but I think they do the best with what they can. I have gone to catholic schools my whole school career from elementary to college and I cant complain about the education I have received. |
| 9/11/2007 | other | The school was nice but... unforunately it has no advance programs and alot of the chores of done by students themselves inwhich takes time off of their education. Teachers are very nice and disciplined. And the students are very active. Though they ave money problems becuase it's a catholic school, they teach and lear very accurrately. |
| 7/1/2007 | parent | The caliber of the teachers was a total upset. The principal is worried more about protecting the reputation of the school (afraid of closing down), than protecting the children's emotional development. I believe this school just doesn't know how to deal with the kids of today. They think that they are still in the era where all kids folded their hands & were afraid to speak. Just be very careful if you send your child there, because this school does address problems with their staff, nor do they put the children first. |
| 6/16/2006 | parent | The teachers here are amazing. They really try to understand your kid! My son did better here then at any of the other public, privite and even the acadimies I sent him to. They have music, art , and computer classes(they have a full computer lab, music and art room.) They also have a(very good) boy and girl basketball team. For a little extra money, you can have them take spanish, or any instumaent. They learn the recorder for no extra cost in music. However the parents really need to get involved! The teachers try very hard, but they can't do everything. The school has parties for diffrent holidays, and pizza and hot dogs on Wensdays. You never have to wory if your kid is in good hands because you know the teachers will be there no matter what! |
