8/11/2009parentNo diversity here, low standard, high teacher turnover, nestled in a congested dangerous area. Very little counselor support for students. School is a work in progress. Teachers are in constant fear of retribution from the CEO. Academic expectations for students are low.
5/28/2009parentI am a parent. My son Keshon has been a part of the wpaces family since he was 9months old. Starting at PeeWee prep daycare center. I love this school. my son entered wpaces in kindergarten and now is currently about to graduate from the 5th grade. Wpaces is a very caring family oriented school. The teachers are very caring and do a great job with the students. Remember no school is perfect and has its ups and downs but overall I give Wpaces an At.. I wish the school went to the eight grade so my son can remain there. wpaces will surley be missed. thanks Mrs.Phillips for all you love and care for the past ten years..
5/13/2009parentAlthough my child has learned alot during the past 6 months that she has been in this school, there should be more discipline and organization amongst the children and staff. Kids are always running through the halls and they dont seem to pay any attention to authority. The school seems disorganized as I have more than often received important notices the day before an event. The school grouds are in desperate need of care and the building itself could use a makeover. My daughter will be attending this school next year unless I get a miracle from above and she get accepted to Russell Byers.
4/10/2007parentThis is my child second year at WPACES. My child is currently in the fist grade. I found this is to be so much better than public schools. I am one of those parents that is always at the school constantly checking on my child progress. I have also noticed that my child which is in the first grade is learning the same thing as her older brother that goes to public school, and he is in the third grade. Would I recommend this school to someone ? Yes I would, as a matter of fact when my other child turns five next year I plan to enroll her in WPACES to attend kindergarten.
3/7/2007parentHi, my child is fairly new to this school and is in Kindergarten. I heard good things about the school from another parent and through reviews from other parents on the website; and this is how I made the decision to send my child to WPACES. Although, it's been a short amount of time since my daughter started I've already come to the conclusion that she will not be attending this school next year. There are some major safety concerns as well as the way the school is organized and structered. Every morning I drop my daughter off for breakfast children are ripping and running everywhere, screaming and talking to the top of their lungs while the aids or teachers look disoriented about how to handle the situation. There seems to be no organization and if it doesn't get taken care of someone is liable of getting hurt.
2/13/2007parentAs a parent of a first grader, I was a little leery about sending my child to a 'neighborhood school', but after meeting withe the faculty and staff all my fears were completely melted away. The teachers for the most part are very involved and strive to provide not only the basics but positive life lessons also. I would appreciate more field trips for the children though. Other than that, I would whole heartedly recommend WPACES.
6/26/2006studentMy Daughter has been Enrolled in this school for the past 4 years, I give this school 10 stars if I could, the teachers are so involved in the students and their lives, I was so sad when my daughter graduated from this school , I have seen my daughter grow into a beautiful young lady and I owe 75% of this to this great school, Yes! there is a great school in the city . WPACES I would reccomend this school to any parent that wants the best for there child
3/29/2005parentMy son has been going to this school since kindergarden. I found that not only do the teachers involve themselves in every childs education, but they also provide help when needed. They have the best academic program than the original public school that my son attended. They also have a grandpals program for children that need assistance with reading. They are committed to making sure that all the children do exceedingly well in all areas. They did a testing assessment on all of the children at the school and found that the scores were not acceptable per their cirriculm and they put into affect a mandatory extended day program. The school hours are now 8am - 6pm. The work to provide your children with transportation or a buddy system. I would recommend this school to any parent looking for a highly successful academic school environment for thier child(ren).
