| 4/19/2010 | parent | I love Hickory Tavern Elementary because the staff and faculty treat the students as their own children. They give each student a strong sense of community. I love it so much that I serve as an officer of the PTO and volunteer full-time there. My kids feel loved and valued there which I feel is necessary to a great learning atmosphere. |
| 10/4/2008 | parent | I think the school outstanding they show teamwork to get things done and that the way it should be done.Wonderful teachers and staff! My hats off to them for a job well done. |
| 1/12/2008 | parent | I can't say enough good things about this school. My son hasn't even started attending yet, but both my husband and I have been before and I wouldn't want him going anywhere else. The teachers that are there are wonderful. You can tell that they have devoted their life to making a difference in the lives of the kids that go there. I am very happy to know that my son will be in very good hands as was I years ago. |
| 2/1/2007 | parent | My son goes to this school as did his father and I, we loved it...and he loves it. The community itself offers activites from golf to soccer (you name it...starting at age 3!!!) The teachers are more than willing to work with you, you are allowed to visit or eat lunch with your child ANYTIME, they encourage classroom volunteers, and are very parent involved school. It has some of the best programs in the district...I actually live a mile outside the school line and wouldn't DARE send my child to any other school in this state!!! The staff loves the kids and it shows! As a parent who used to substitute here I can look at it from the outside and inside! |
| 3/21/2006 | teacher | I used to be a teacher at this school. I just want to say that this was the best school that I have worked for. I enjoyed working at this school because of its community spirit. I felt that all students, parents, teachers, and administration worked hard to keep it a friendly place. I looked forward to working there and drove 2 hours a day to work there for five years. The only reason that I left was a promotion that was offered to me in another district. If I had the opportunity to go back to that school and work again, I would take it in a heart beat. So, I guess that I would like to say! Keep up the good spirit and kindness to others! |
| 9/6/2005 | parent | Overall, this is a good school. The front office staff could be more enthusiastic about their positions, yet they wonder why volunteers are so hard to come by. Most of the faculty are very happy to have parents that are involved with their students, yet extra-curricular activities are non-existent on this grade level. Fundraising is at an alltime high, yet staff does not take into consideration that all of your family recieves the same packets....therefore, most parents do not bother with fundraising. It does seem that this school is last in the district to recieve needed supplies due to its outlying location in connection to the other schools in this district. Can say that most of the aides and essential staff seem greatly underpaid! |
