7/17/2011parentStop wasting time with the children who don't want to be there and spend your money and efforts on those who do.
6/17/2011otherI graduated from this school, in 1981, as Edward W. Jackson. At the time, I thought it was the best high school ever. If it is not now. Then what happened? Your fail, not mine.....
5/22/2009parentI want to respond to what someone wrote regarding the discipline and control of the students at Reagan. Know your facts. Reagan has the lowest incident rate of any school in AISD. ANY school in AISD. There are no more disciplinary issues at Reagan than at any other school, so stop buying into the negative hype.
5/22/2009parentReagan shouldn't have teacher's children attending the same school! I totally disagree with that, also I wanna say that Mr.Pesqueda is a wonderful teacher, I met him and he inspired me into drawing.
5/4/2006parentPerhaps this school produces good work in the extra curricular activies. I do not think that the academics can be very good because of the lack of control of many of the kids there.
8/20/2005former studentReagan, what do I have to say about it? It's a great school. I went there my freshman year and was a little scared because of the things I heard about it, but all-in-all, It was a great experiance that I could go back if I could. I was captain of the freshman volleyball team, and that was great. The school has some things that need to be better tended to, but its a great school, nice caring teachers who try and help any way that they could, not only with school, but personal issues too. They have a great program for school aged parents and pregnant students. I think thats great. Myself being a teen parent and with another baby on the way, while still being a senior in high school, I would say they help out a lot. So you dont drop out. So Reagan is a great school.
6/21/2005parentGreat school. Principal seems to be doing a good job trying to bring up student morale and school TAKS scores.
6/14/2005teacherThe school is under new administration as of yesterday. There are a lot of hardworking teachers who do what they can for the students. The arts programs are struggling because they do not get the kind of support they need. Parents are rarely involved and the PTA is struggling to stay afloat.
3/23/2005teacher Education is not valued in this predomininatly black community and it shows. The teachers are blamed for the low success rate of the kids, even though there is almost ZERO parental invlovement and average skills of the entering students are at about a 3rd grade level. Teachers are EXPECTED to work miracles. This school and community is a joke. -former Reagan
12/8/2004studentParents can say what they want to say about our school. It is not true. If you think that we are a bad school, then try coming down to our school to see ho wrong you are.
10/2/2004parentI was hesitant to send my freshman daughter to Reagan High School due to their reputation and media reviews. However, starting on the first day I was pleasantly surprised that all my fears were laid to rest. Their was so many administrators on hand with so much information ranging from college paths, to simply just guding us to our next step of my child's enrollment. Since then my daugter has taken all that Reagan has to offer and using it to her advantage. She is in sports (basketball, volleyball), Communties in School ( 9 step), Women of Excellence, Student Council (secreatry), but most of all she has all AP Courses that will take her to her next level to college and by the way Reagan's Homework Haven (tutoring) is the best and helpful tool my daughter uses daily. I give Reagan a two thumbs up! Let's keep striving for EXCELLENCE!
9/22/2004former studentI am a former student from Reagan. I think it is a great school. All of the negative things is not always true. Since Tralla has died, they have been putting Reagan down. Reagan is the only school that I would had ever attend.
8/3/2004parentMy son had a great 4 years at Reagan dispite all the neg things said about the school. I think Reagan is a great school, your are the one that makes it better by how much time you put into working at you kids school and getting to the staff and kids there. You will find that it is not what you expected. So don't beleive the what you read in the papers or hear on the news. Take time out and vist the campus and talk to some of the staff or students.
6/2/2004studentMy freshmen year at Reagan was great. I learned a lot. The teachers explain things in a way you can understand. Above all it was fun!! Mr. Correa(principal) allowed the many extracurricular activities we now have. He made a big difference in school attendence and other activities.
9/27/2003parentMy child was a student at Reagan high, and I just want to say that despite all of the negative and horrible things that have been going on lately at Reagan, it is a fine school, with fine teachers, some things could stand some improvement, but my daughter wouldn t have traded Reagan for any other school in the district.
