8/20/2010parentWe moved into this district in the last few months of the school year 09-10. I thought it looked like a nice school, but I was quickly reminded that looks can be deceiving. I found the office staff difficult and nit-picky, the teacher was so ready for summer it wasn't even funny, and the curriculum was completely uninspiring. My child had learned so much more at the previous elementary, that everything they did at MCE was old news. Furthermore, I felt that everyone was more interested in adhering to a list of rules and a schedule than really getting my child excited about learning. In the short time we were there, not a single person spoke to me about my child's education, ability to blend into the class so late in the season, or level of learning. The only conversations ever had regarded policy & procedure. Very disappointed.
4/16/2010parentI just moved here about a week ago and I can already tell this school doesnt teach much (well at least in kindergarten). My only hope is that its close to end of the year and maybe first grade is better, this is the only elem. for our area. To the parent saying some parents are trying to blame the teachers for their kids doing poorly is very immature and I can see why your kid is getting awards and all this good stuff because my daughter loves this school since she gets all her work right and just has fun. They said she is at the top of the class and ahead of other kids but thats because they dont learn as much as she did. It seems they concentrate more on having fun and maybe displinary issues, I dont know because my daughter has never been in trouble?--Drea
10/23/2009parentThis is my child s first year (kindergarten) at this school and I am somewhat disappointed with the education taught and received as of today. Before attending school my child was in daycare, where I feel more was learned there than has in three months this term at MCE. I feel that the current teacher is not emphasizing enough attention on teaching and concentrating way too much on minor discipline issues. We are thinking of possibly removing our child from this school or requesting a transfer to another class/teacher. Sincerely, DISSAPOINTED PARENTS
2/6/2009parentThis is my son's first year at Marine Creek and we both love it. He has gotten straight A's and different awards. I have read some of the other blogs and just because their child is doing poorly they want to blame the teachers and the school. Some of those parents need to take responsibility for not working with their children at HOME. My son's teacher and guidance are very proactive. The teacher even told me she was concerned with my sons attitude towards school in general, so that I WAS able to fix the problem. Not go 'My kids grades are falling, what is the problem with this school? ' I check my sons progress against state requirements, he usually exceeds them. I would recommend this school to anyone moving to the Lake Worth area.
1/23/2009parentI removed my child from this school to homeschool after several years of frustration. The teacher, prinicpal, and leadership turnover rate at this school is too high. They consistently bring in inexperienced teachers and staff with low leadership abilities. My child had one great teacher at this school followed by three inexperienced and unorganized teachers. During one year, his teacher moved away in the middle of the year only to be replaced with a teacher who had only received her credentials within the month, and had previously been an aide. I have serious problems with the education quality of all of Lake Worth's schools, but this elementary school has been the worst for my children. I advise all parents to check out their test scores and teacher turnovers carefully if you are deciding whether to enroll your child here or opt for private school or homeschooling.
8/26/2008parentI love Marine Creek! This school environment is positive, nurturing, teachers are encouraging to all. Parents, students, everyone. You feel welcomed here. The students love their school at Marine Creek and their teachers. They learn education and life skills. Excellent, excellent teachers.
5/25/2008parentI think this school has the potential to be great. They are just not taking advantage of it. MCE has great teachers, they just need better leadership by the principle and vice principle. If a school chooses to hire such young teachers they have to have better leadership to help them along than MCE has.
9/28/2006parentI think this is a great school and the teachers, parents and principals are wonderful. They have all been great. And work together as a team. We must remember that as parents we are our children's teachers first.
12/15/2005parentMy children greatly enjoy this school.
11/1/2005parentAcademic programs are great. Extracurricular activities available. Parent involvement is moderate
9/9/2005parentThis has been a wonderful experience for my child. Recommend.
8/20/2005former studentThe staff at MCE are very involved with the parents. There are very few teachers or staff that has been rude or unproffesional with me.The office staff has worked with me with some of the problems that i have had and they have always put the needs of my children first.I think the pta has to work on the fundraising to better support the school but other than that I give MCE 5 golden stars on thier academic programs and the level of extracurricular activities. I would recommend this school because of the teachers and staff involvment with parent and students and their willingness to help in any way that they can.Love this school!
6/5/2005parentThis school needs alot of help. PTA should change over to PTO. With new leadership and more teachers who are experienced this school could really improve. We need to get those TAKS scores up and quit hiring teachers just out of college!
12/6/2004parentThis is my stepson's first year at school and he loves it. He has learned so much since the beginning of the year. His teacher is a very cool teacher who has taught so very well. I'm excted to see what he does in the classroom everyday! I enjoy eating lunch with my stepson every chance I get. Even in the cafeteria they are well organized. What a pleasant school we have found for our child. Thank You MCE for doing such a great job!!
10/17/2004parentI am completely impressed with every teacher at Marine Creek Elementary. My kids love it.
9/30/2004parentMarine Creek is a great school! My children love going everyday. I really feel that the teachers and principal care about each of the children, not just as students, but also as people. They are encouraged to do better when they can and rewarded when they try their hardest. It is so nice to wak into the school with your children and have every teacher we meet greet the children by name. The teachers, principal and vice princioal always go the extra mile.
9/22/2004parentMy opinion about Marine Creek was very High. In the past my kids had teachers that were willing to go the extra mile for the kids. But this year we have encounter a teacher that is very rude, not supportive to student or parent. I am a parent that support education and make my children work an extra mile. When I need support and I am looking for the teacher to help me help my child and find out what is going on with him I expect support not rudeness. But apparently this district can not keep good teachers and loose the good ones faster than others. I feel sorry for the kids that attend Marine Creek Elementary and the parents too.
8/10/2004parentThis school is really great. I am in awe with how well my 1st grader is reading. The facility is beautiful and the teachers are great.
4/27/2004parentThis could be a great school if the curriculum was updated and the teachers were current with state guidelines. It is evident in the testing scores of the school and its ranking. High quality teachers have left this year due to the principal. I hope the district recognizes this.
3/18/2004parentMy daughter's teacher and assistant is the world's best. They are very supportive of her needs and the other children's needs. The vice principal and the principal are not the best but are also not the worst. They are professional but not always fair. Hopefully that will change in time:)
2/2/2004parentI have been very impressed with Marine Creek for my son. His teacher is so kind and supportive of his progress. The principal has made great changes this school year. My son has had great teachers both last year and this year that have made the learning eperience fun and enriching. The school is only two years old. It looks great and is well organized. Everyone on the staff makes you feel welcome. The only problem I see is class size. I do wish class size could be smaller.
2/1/2004parentI am proud to have my child attend Marine Creek Elementary. The staff puts students first. The Principal and Vice Principal are working hard to improve this school. The Principal does believe in the teachers and she will get rid of everyone who is not focused on the students and improving learning.
2/1/2004parentI believe Marine Creek to be a school on the brink of a wonderful legacy. People are always quick to judge what they believe is 'good' or 'bad' and tend to react impulsively. To see the true beauty in this school, as with anything, you must be a visionary willing to be optimistic, supportive, and proactive. I am a proud parent of a little tadpole at Marine Creek and am taking ownership of that responsiblity as these other parents should, too. Making a school great starts at home, first. Marine Creek has the safest procedures I have ever seen, loving and dedicated teachers, and a principal willing to go to bat for the campus. Where else is offering anymore? If you want a voice, get involved! Go Marine Creek!
1/30/2004parentI have never felt so welcome as I have at this school! It is evident that the staff and faculty are dedicated to the students. I am glad to find a place that put the students first.
1/29/2004parentI feel that Marine Creek has gone through a tremondous change. There are a lot of positive things going on to help raise the bar for our children. I feel they expect more out of our children which makes them think and try harder. They try to keep the standards high. I am excited about what is going on there and feel they are trying everything to help keep our children on track.
1/28/2004parentThis could be a great school. It's too bad that the principal keeps driving off teachers who are gifted, talented and dedicated to helping children instead of promoting their own career and agenda.
6/26/2003  Fantastic school!
