| 12/10/2009 | parent | I have had two children and two step children attend- my younget is still there. There is no toleration for nonsense such as fighting- if you act up you are gone. The older kids were able to coast through high school english because they cover the HS books at GCS in 7th and *th grade. The Math edication is solid. THe class sizes are small. This school has been around a long time and a here today gone tomorrow charter school- it is a good place to be. |

| 8/26/2005 | parent | All three of my children attended Galveston Catholic School through 8th grade, and I think they received a sound academic and spiritual foundation. My 25 year old is now in graduate school at University of Houston; my 22 year old son graduated w/ honors at Ball High & received his degree from UT Dallas; my youngest is a freshman at Ball High taking pre-AP courses. Galveston Catholic provides a family atmosphere, where teachers know & call each child by name from their early years till graduation. Emphasis is on students' academic and reasoning development, rather than their test-taking skills. |
| 7/12/2005 | parent | My child has attended GCS for the last 4 years. We enrolled her in that school because we were unhappy with the quality of public schools here. I like the small class sizes, but have been disappointed with extracurricular activities. Also, the school is poorly funded. Because of this, the quality of teaching is often compromised. The better educators choose to teach in public schools where they are paid better. I also found that behavior by teachers that would be unacceptable in public schools was overlooked by the school. We are going to enroll our child in a public school because we feel she can get a better education for free than for the money we have spent at this private school. |
