| 2/28/2012 | parent | I pulled my daughter from Two Dimensions to try out Harmony HSS. As a parent I can honestly say this school is over rated. Harmony has a hard time controlling discipline in this school. Many of the class rooms are over crowded even though they try their best to divide the kids into A-C groups. Because of this many of the teachers I found was giving my daughter grades that belonged to other students beause they were confused. I found during parent teacher conference my child was not the only one going through this. Due to their language barrier, some of teachers and administrative staff is hard to understand. My daughter hated the food they served. |
| 8/2/2011 | parent | We pulled our children out of the Klein school district, due to a total lack of "teaching" at Frank Elementary, and thought that we would give Harmony a try for 1 year. We have been thrilled with their education. Both of my children have excelled. All of the teachers have been remarkable. I haven't had to deal with the administration much, but it is so nice to have teachers that actually have a PASSION for educating! (something that didn't happen in Klein). My only complaint is that the classroom for my first grader was so cramped. The teacher did her best in the space that she had. This year they have moved the 8th grade to the high school, so hopefully that will free upsome classroom space. We will definitely be returning for the 2011-2012 school year! |
| 7/15/2011 | parent | The school has its negatives and positives. The administrative staff are not friendly at all, but my daughter's teacher was awesome. The uniform policy is a little to rigid especially for little girls, but all in all my daughter loved the school and had a very positive year. |
| 5/30/2011 | parent | Every review posted is correct...I have experienced the negatives and the positives of harmony first hand... |
| 5/27/2011 | parent | My son attended harmony for the first time this year. I was not impress with the school at all. The teachers won't return email for about three to four days and the administration is not the kindness people around. My son will not be attending next year. when compared to private school this school doesn't even make the list but compared to regular public school its better. My son will be attending private school next year. |
| 9/23/2010 | parent | The admin staff is not the best , I have to admit however I am sending my child there to get educated. I am very pleased with the program there. Children are challenged and pushed to reach their goals. There math and science program is great and I appreciate the challenge they provide to my son. They are also offering a special dyslexia reading program that he is taking advantage off. All in all I am very impressed with the school. Now let them get the admin stuff up to speed and all would be wonderful. |
| 8/24/2010 | parent | Adminstration staff is horrible, and unorganized. every year they change the uniforms, and the prices. they care more about fundraisers, and not the children education. If you email certain teachers they will not get back to you. They took out getting "D"s on the grading scale. So you immediately get an "F" now. you will get Saturday detention for anything stupid. |
| 3/1/2010 | parent | My daughter had the best grades before she went to that school. She used to have nothing but good grades she was in gt but now she is not her grades are now 50s it is the worst school in the world |
| 11/27/2009 | student | I do think the last couple of years the school has been unorganized but now we are getting lots of help from parent helpers and the PTO. My dad even subs at the school. I think this year is better and the years after will be awsome! |
| 11/2/2009 | parent | First, I must say the school's purpose and goals are what a parent wants for their child. The concern arises when you see the class sizes for the lower grade levels and the classrooms. Students are crammed into classes with counts as high as 30 and the ratio is supposed to be 15:1. If you have a child who deserves individual attention, please continue to research before you place your child at this school, because he / she will not receive it. It is not that I believe teachers don't want to work individually, I just know that doing so becomes impossible with 30 students in a room without a teacher's assistant. Please take a walk through before considering. Ask about the cut off for entry, books for students, fundraisers and restrooms. |
| 10/3/2009 | parent | Excellent Academics, Smaller classes, |
| 9/27/2009 | parent | The teachers really care about our kids and strive to help them be successful, not just at their school work, but in all manners. |
| 7/31/2009 | parent | I love this school. I have a third and an eight grader attending the school. My daughter was reading fourth grade level while she was in 2nd grade and my son got commended performance from TAKS. The school uses AR supplementary reading program along with C-Scope curriculum. After schools, tutoring, and parent visit are some of the best things that I like about this school. |
| 7/11/2009 | parent | I love the school and I find the administration and teachers to be responsive to my questions and concerns. My daughter received commended scores on all 4 eighth grade TAKS exams this year. I love the no tolerance for public displays of affection, violence, profanity, etc. The language issues that others mention are not unsurmountable and the diversity causing the comments is no different from what I experience in the corporate employee community or the staff at highly rated universities. |
| 4/24/2009 | parent | The school as far as acedemic is great, but the administration is awful. You can not have a decent conversation with them about your child without them starting an argument. They have very bad representation at the front desk. I tried speaking to the lady at the front desk about her appoach and looked the other way as if i weren't talking. nd good luck trying to speak to the prinicple if you ask me he cares nothing about the children. My child will not be returning. |
| 3/25/2009 | parent | This a great school I have ever seen before. The teachers and administrators are very dedicated. They really work very hard. |
| 1/28/2009 | parent | The administration is awful, good luck getting through to anyone if you call in. Most of my son's teachers are good, but a few are not English first language and that poses a problem with the kids not understanding. |
| 9/16/2008 | parent | I agree. My Daughters biggest issue is not being able to understand the instructors. I also agree that the administrative staffis quite un organized and not very in touch with the students wants and needs. They need more diverse classes. Turkish is not as important to the rest of us as say latin. Campus is pretty plain. |
| 7/30/2008 | parent | This could be a really excellent school if native, English speaking teachers would be hired to teach. The students have a difficult time understanding the non-native English speaking teachers. The administration also needs to be more organized. The students would appreciate a real athletic program as well. |
| 5/15/2008 | parent | The academics of this school is good, however the administration lack organization and commitment to their staff and parents. The administration needs to change for this to be an amazing school! |
