| 10/16/2012 | student | I heard many rumors about Northbrook before attending but as I started going realize that is was not how they described it. The staff is really good, Teachers are very helpful to students not only in what they need but also to succed towards a brighter future. I graduated from Northbrook High in May 2008 and thanks to the teachers and programs they have help me to go to college and help me keep focus on my studies. |
| 9/11/2012 | teacher | This school administration has no teachers and students development program. school administrators have poor leadership skills. They select teachers and students based on what they like. They don't even communicate to rest of the school about their selection criteria. |
| 5/7/2011 | student | Am currently a freshman and this school is amazing! The teachers really work with students and they try to get to know every single student as an individual not just as a class. The students are very nice to each other, and everyone is accepted regarding their race, orientation, gender, etc. There are lots of collage ready programs available and teachers always encourage students to participate in them. The only thing that the school lacks is parent participation. But other than that its great. |
| 10/5/2010 | parent | For what this school deals with in regards to it's student population, it does a good job. Northbrook has a a large Hispanic student body, but it's testing reflects that they are above average in regards to other schools with similar population demographics. Spring Branch ISD has done a admirable job for what changes it has gone through over the past 20 years. The only negative is the lack of parental involvement. |
| 4/25/2008 | parent | Northbrook didn't have the best reputation for several years. Honestly, I was concerned for my son's safety at the school. After visiting the school, my opinion started to change. The principle and the teachers are wonderful. They really work with the students to help them achieve. Overall I am impressed with the staff. The one thing I see lacking is the parent participation at school events. The staff is going the extra mile for our kids. We as parents have to step up also! |
| 1/16/2008 | parent | Northbrook has really changed and i really like the fact that it has a more secure campus |
| 3/28/2007 | student | Academically Northbrook currently has great programs. AP classes are available in large numbers. Many of these teachers have been working for years and even decades. From the highest colleges to the local ones, the staff and faculty are qualified to teach students from any school. Sports, fine arts, adn other extracurricular activities have taken center hold of the environment. Studens join many activities and hands full of them stay almost daily. Competitiveness and quality wins in different areas are up there with other schools in our area. The current problem is the lack of parent involvement one sees in Other high schools. Lack of english and legal abilities by parents in our area, have held back the real potential parents can make. Low levels of violence and crime are seen. Clean environment compared to other schools is felt and visible. Great school for anyone. |
| 5/7/2005 | teacher | The school is going through changes. It was a school where no one wanted to go and work but now with the new principal is doing great things there. |
