| 3/29/2011 | parent | Does anyone know what happened at the 28 March School board meeting? I understand there where many parents and teachers that spoke. |
| 3/7/2011 | parent | I would not send my dog to Golbow Elementary. The school is extremely disorganized. The teachers and administration have poor follow-through. There is a disconnect between the Principal/Administrator with teachers and ancillary staff. Every time I call to communicate with the school regarding my children no one calls back or I get a different story from each person I speak with. There is a lot of reverse discrimination that occurs at this school. They do not teach the student they teach for the TAKS. The students are bombarded with several concept and no one takes the time to insure that they have grasped one idea before they included another it s like they are in a tornado. If the economy were better I would get the heck out of dodge. If you have the opportunity to avoid sending your child to this cesspool I implore you RUN!!!!!! |

| 5/31/2010 | parent | The new principal does not interact with the kids, nor does she attend all of the wonderful family activities that the school puts on. It is very uncommon to spot the principal walking around campus or getting involved in any way. |
| 4/27/2010 | parent | In my opinion, this school is controlled by an autocratic administration who shows no compassion, has a lack of education, and sets bad examples of Katy ISD school board policies. This administration has weak leadership, and they lack social skills for our children and teachers to benefit from. I feel the parents of our community are completely disillusioned with the things that really go on there. In my closing opinion, I would closely monitor the situation at this school; be 110% involved with all aspects that involve your children while attending this school, and make sure to report everything you feel uncomfortable about immediately to Katy ISD. |
| 12/10/2009 | parent | I have two children who have attended Golbow one with learning disabilities and one above average student but with adhd. The teachers and staff have been wonderful and have made both my children thrive in school. |
| 10/23/2007 | parent | Golbow is a good school. I am pleased with ehe level of education the children are getting. My concern really is on how much the curricullum is being taught in class to make sure the children understand before passing the homework out. My child is in 5th grade and I am appalled at some of the lesson facts he does not know. 3rd grade was better. But I must say the staff are courteous and easy to work with. Hopefully we will see improvements in the future. |
| 10/22/2007 | parent | This is my child's second year at Golbow, for the most part I am pleased with education my child is receiving, however I have to agree with one of the parents above I don't feel they treat the students with respect. My child is young (2nd grader) and I feel he had more of his fair share of teachers getting in his face last year. I also do not agree with the way they communicate the child's infractions to you. If the infraction is important enough to send home a card everyday with a check mark on it the least they can do is tell me what happened or what it is for so that us as parents can properly discipline our children. |
| 8/15/2007 | parent | I have had 2 daughters who go to Golbow and I have heard odd statements from both children. I have verified this with other parents who have their own children in this school. A complaint was made with no results. Let's see if it has changed this year. |
| 5/8/2006 | parent | I have 2 children with learning disabilities and this school has taken one of them from a kindergarten level to the level ie is supposed to be on! I am very impressed. The principal and vice principals are very wonderful to work with. I have really enjoyed my interaction with them! I would highly recommend this school to anyone. Great job Golbow team! :-) |
| 2/5/2006 | parent | Teachers here are very interactive not only with parents, but students as well. All staff are very will to work with parents to improve the childrens' performance. All 3 of my kids have attended Golbow, and I have never had a bad or even negative experience. Highly recommended! |
| 6/17/2005 | parent | This school is lacking professionalism to say the least. The teachers and faculty treat children like their criminals in jail. They scold kids and punish them before they even do anything wrong. The principle is nice but she is maybe to lenient and perhaps too old to realise that her assistant principle are not courteous and handling issues in appropriate manner. This school could use a major makeover beginning with the school assistant principle's. |
| 6/12/2005 | parent | Low volunteer level, good kisd curriculum, other schools in kisd better |
| 4/30/2005 | parent | Golbow is no longer overcrowded since new schools have been built. Teachers there during the overcrowding did their best with what they were given. Parental involvement is important, but in order to get parents involved they should feel welcome in the school. Administrators and teachers should suppoort each other and they do a good job of that there. |
| 5/31/2004 | parent | Golbow is overcrowded. This accounts for a majority of the problems that we've noticed, such as low morale, poorly supervised teachers, and a lack of teacher professionalism. While the school might receive some relief in the next year, the district seems to 'overlook' this school on a regular basis when it comes to resources and 'extras.' Overall, our experience has not been good. We were concerned about our school and after we enrolled our child in another school the problems continued. The new school noted the difficulities in obtaining records from Golbow. The principal is very approachable and kind. She is wonderful to work with, but everyone under her is difficult and unaccountable. There is a lack of organization and a huge reluctance to work in general. This is not the 'Katy' school that you want to spend your tax dollars on. |
