8/27/2012parentRun! If you have to work a second job to stay somewhere else, to keep your child far away from this school I suggest you do it. The teachers and staff are rude and unwelcoming. They are unorganized to say the least. I have been using this site for over a year now and it wasn't until today that I decided to write a review for a school. I have never in all my years heard of a school that does not send homework. This school relies on in class group projects to grade children. To rely on someone else's child to make sure my child gets a passing grade really rubbed me the wrong way. The lunch program is also unsatisfactory. Most schools that I know of offer free lunch for the first week or two while the lunch applications are being processed. Not this one. Can you imagine the bind that would someone in if they truly relied on the lunch program for their child's lunch? Teachers huddle together like giddy children and outright talk about parents. The least you could do is wait until they are no longer in your presence. Heed my warning parents....RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL.
6/7/2012parentGreat school in a great area! The school is run well and the teachers are very caring.
5/30/2012parentParents are not welcome at this school. The best interest of the kids is not the driving factor in the decision making at McNabb. The teachers are good, but the administration is holding them back.
9/27/2010parentParents cannot be really involved as much as they need or want to. new policies that nobody knows.
8/25/2010parentWe have gone to McNabb for several years. Looking at the reviews it looks as if only staff have been writing them. I was actually looking at other schools because I am thinking of moving it is so bad. EVERY day they meet in the gym and do a lets waste the morning. They do a joke and a HA HA HA HA, as well as many other qoutes and things. If they did it only on Fridays it would be a good thing. There is a high turn over rate for teachers.
4/6/2010parentMy kids love going to McNabb. The staff is very caring. They always go the extra mile to ensure each child's success.
3/24/2010parentGinger McNabb Elementary is an outstanding school where students come first. Following the Great Expectations' tenets, students learn to be responsible for their actions and education. Children excel academically and socially because of the climate and culture of McNabb Elementary.
9/27/2009parentI think the school is making progress. The teachers and students both seem happy.
10/9/2008parentI've been very happy with McNabb, I have two children who attend and they are both excited and looking forward to go everyday. This is the third year since they opened and I feel McNabb gets better every year. They have caring teachers that not only teach academics, but also great life principles.
3/5/2008parentThis is our first year with McNabb, and our child's homeroom teacher in particular is a blessing! He is so involved and genuinely cares. The 'great expectations' practices are very impressive. While succeeding in academic overall instruction, there is an emphasis on building good live-long character traits and fair, just consequences....good and bad. We love it so far!!!!!
9/26/2007parentThis is our first year in the public school system and it has been horrible. We are terribly disappointed. We have a homeroom teacher that is unreasonable and biased. She refuses to allow us to visit her room.
9/19/2006parentSo far everything is going well. My kids come home excited everyday to tell me about thier school day. We are looking forward to some great times and memories to remember.
