8/26/2011parentKIln Creek is an Awesome school! My daughter is going on her fourth year at the school and my son starts kindergarten this coming school year. The school is clean and well kept, the principal and staff are fully engaged in everything that's going on with the students and in the community. My daughter's teachers have been great...they are very nurturing and focused on the student learning and retaining the information as opposed to just learning information for a test. I love the fact that the principal allows parents to visit the classrooms anytime and observe...parents can also request a teacher for the next school year. Everyone that I've talked to receive one of their top 3 choices. I've never heard of any other school doing that. The PTA is very active and involved. They have a ton of great programs and they do a great job of communicating upcoming events and information. I lloked at a lot of schools when i moved to the area and Kiln Creek is by far the BEST...I'm sad that we will be moving after this school year. I know that I will not find another school that match the staff and education that my daughter received at this school.
8/26/2011parentOur family experience with Kiln Creek has been an exceptional one. The "whole" staff I feel is competent and I truley trust in their ability to provide children with a strong foundation that will help them succeed in their pathway that they will travel. I also feel the staff is concerned with all the childrens needs and use only the best practices in the care of those children.
8/26/2011parentThe 2010-2011 school year was our first experience at Kiln Creek Elementary School. I found the teaching and nursing staff to be greatly concerned with the growth and development of the students with a mixture of teaching methods being used. That the teachers encouraged the student's to their fullest potential. That the nursing staff were very concerned with the safety and well being of the students.
8/14/2011parentWe have had alot of issues with this school. My daughter switched school shortly after starting her kindergarten year. In her first class at this school there were many issues and we requested a different teacher. We had to fight tooth and nail to get a new teacher even though the issues were found to be caused by the teacher. Upon getting a 2nd teacher, things got better until my daughter fell on the playground. Her top teeth went through her lip, and her teeth were knocked loose. I did not receive a phone call, a note, NOTHING.. My daughters teeth have been lose for 5 months now thanks to this. My husband and I went into the office, only for the principal and the nurse to make excuses as to why I was not notified.. This principal only seems interested in being there for the money, rather them being there for the students. A few teachers definitely need to be reevaluated and some things need to change GREATLY. There is definitely favoritism among students. The bathrooms have been written with VERY inappropriate things for children with nothing done by the school to fix the issues to the last of my knowledge.
6/30/2011parentI can't speak to the entire school but my child absolutely hated getting up every morning and going to her 3rd grade class and my son's teacher had him reassigned to Enterprise after only a few days in her class. The leadership is also terrible. The principal seemed to let this particular teacher do whatever she wanted.
6/21/2011parentWe love our school. My kids are eager to go each day. They paerticipate in the Accelerated Reader program and the daily jogging program. My daughter was just recognized for earning 6 bee tokens in the 4Bees of Behavior Program. This is a great way to recognize kids for being kind, safe, cooperative and respectful at school. I hope we can stay here until all three of our children finish 5th grade.
5/25/2010teacherThe school has won the Healthy Virginian's award (Bronze and Silver)for the past two years. Students participate in daily recess and have walked hundreds of miles on the track. Students earn small jogging shoes each time they walk/run a mile. My students all have earned at least 20 shoes this year.
5/6/2010teacherIt has a great staff. The parents are very involved and supportive of the teachers. The PTA is awesome!!
11/15/2009studentI absulotely love this school .The teachers are kind and sometimes they might be mean bbut they are ok! i'm in the fifth grade and my teacher is ms.denion! ok hope you like this school see ya!
8/24/2009parentMy children were at Kiln Creek for 3 years. My son ended up moving schools for the TAG program and when compared to the other school, Kiln Creek was head and shoulders above. The children are better behaved and the PTA is active and involved. There is a lot offered and a very diverse group of people.
1/13/2009parentMy son has been at the school for a week now and I am very impressed. We came from the Texas school district and they are on top of things here!
9/12/2008parentKiln Creek is a wonderful school! This is my daughter's third year here. She has loved each and every teacher! The PTA provide us with a variety of fun things to do with our children during the year. I do wish more parents volunteered in the class and for the PTA, but those that do, always care about the kids and the school and are always friendly. The staff are always happy to answer any questions and encourage you to stay involved in both classroom activities and school-wide events.
2/19/2008parentThis is a great school. The students feel safe and welcome. Kiln Creek staff works with each child to help them develop to their fullest.
1/29/2008parentKiln Creek Elementary is a great school. The teachers are very qualified and care very much for the students. Members of the PTA board care very much for the school and try their hardest to raise money to go back to the children. Fun events are held throughout the school year. There are very supportive the school who give a lot of their time to make Kiln Creek and great place for the children. So much more can be done if more paretns were as giving as these volunteers.
3/22/2007parentKiln Creek Elementary is wonderful. My son has had a wonderful experience here. I would highly recommend it to other parents. There is a real community feel at the school.
8/24/2005parentMy son attended kindergarden at this school and had a hard time adjusting with keeping his hands to himself but the teachers and Principal worked real hard to help him and I find ways to control his hands. He ended the school year great he even was tested because they thought he was gifted. I am sad that I might be changing schools due to a military move. This school is the best. Everyone works together and they do all kinds of fun things for the kids and parents. It was a priviledge for my son to attend this school. The school is immaculate and everyone works as a team. I love u Kiln Creek.
6/2/2005parentI am a big fan! I love this school and have had a wonderful experience. Great new principal and most of the teachers are awesome. Great support from the staff in every area!
3/3/2004parentI am a fan of Kiln Creek! Two of my children attend. Out of the 4 teachers my children have had, one has been a dissapointment but I still think that the school is top knotch!
12/3/2003parentWe have a wonderful school. Great curriculm and excellent teachers who provide good techniques for our kids to learn what's taught. Parents we need your support. Save those box tops and send them to school, to allow our kids to receive the necessary equipment, ex: computers, art supplies etc....What a great school to support.
