| 6/18/2011 | parent | The teachers at this school are professionals. They truly love their jobs and the children they teach. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help the students and community. They have an amazing school library that my children just love. |
| 3/18/2011 | parent | In September our family moved from NJ to Va. I will say that I was nervous about Va school system. Surprisingly Dumbarton is the best school mty children have attended to date. The teachers and staff are great role models. They are always willing to assist and communicate with me. My children LOVE their teachers. My son for the first time EVER, had A's and B's. That shows you the hard work his 3rd grade teacher has put into working with him. It is truly appriciated. Christy |
| 12/30/2009 | parent | My son is in his second year at Dumbarton and really loves it. The teachers there are stellar and seem to genuinely care about the students. Parental involvement is lower than I expected, but it seems to be gradually improving. The new principal (Mrs. Traveline) has been a very positive addition to the school. |
| 6/25/2007 | parent | The staff is fantastic! They have updated & new playground equipment. Our daughter has attended this school for 5 years & she has loved every teacher she has ever had! The homework/parent/teacher communication folders are an excellent way to follow your child's progress & keep in contact with the teacher should a question or problem arise. I can only hope that her middle school will provide the same level of excitement & enjoyment that Dumbarton has brought to our daughter. She will truly miss the school & all of the wonderful teachers! She seems to be receiving a top notch education & has excelled in every placement test, scoring higher than friends & family who attend private schools! I could not rate this school or the staff high enough! Even the janitor is top notch - he helped her when her tooth came out & was so kind to her! |
| 1/25/2005 | parent | The staff is courteous & friendly. An older school, clean, many nice team spirit paintings hand-painted here & there throughout the halls & cafetorium. 3 baseball diamonds & a running track, 2 separate playgrounds with age appropriate equipment & nice swings. They have set 'noise levels' for different areas of the school, which let the children know when to use normal speaking voices, whispers, when to be silent, or when it's okay to be noisy. These 'levels' they learn at school come in useful at home too! All the kids have 'homework/parent/teacher communication' folders to keep track of schoolwork & announcements. My son seems to be enjoying his first year in kindergarten at Dumbarton and I've heard only good things about this school from former students as well. |
