| 5/3/2011 | parent | the new principal is making a great job ! my experience has been great,im really pleased with the people who work there |
| 5/3/2011 | parent | My daughter attended this school for three years 2nd - 5th grades. I have watched the atmosphere change with the new staff. The teachers became more accommodating to the students academic levels. My daughter holds good grades and has made a group of friends who enjoy reading together. I suggest that parents volunteer/ communicate as much as possible (If you can) to keep the students and staff motivated on this upward path, plus it always helps to work as a community group. Overall a good experience more so during this past year. |
| 5/7/2005 | parent | This is a very nice school with good academic focus. The Principal seems to know each child personally and parents too. Teachers are open to suggestions by parents and they take the time to challenge the top students while working with those who need remedial help. They seem to really care and come to all extra activities. They really go above and beyond the call of duty. There is a high level of emphasis on basis skills in math and reading. Saxon Math seems to be slow and tedious at first, but the benefit is gained through repitition of the basics. Outstanding SACC program with caring teachers and a wide variety of activities. A small number of parents are very involved, however, the PTA struggles to get volunteers. My experience has been delightful. This is a school that cares about the children. |
| 9/9/2003 | parent | As a parent of a student who receives very good grades I am concerned that her grades were not earned but are the result of the fact that she can read and write English. With so much diversity I feel that the level of teaching is lowered to accomodate those who do not speak English well, which is confirmed by our very low test scores.(We are almost at the bottom of the list in our area schools) The teachers do a very well with what they have to work with but without much support from parents it is hard. |
| 6/14/2003 | | Very nurturing yet demanding--small school where parents are known by sight--piloting Saxon Math and is already a Core Curriculum school--good afterschool programs--students from many cultures, many languages, with good support for their needs--the building is old but always spotless and full of student displays--quarterly Academic Nights, movie nights, and athletic challenges offer parents many chances to see their kids in action--parents invited to eat cafeteria lunch with their children at any time--I am one very pleased parent, proud of my children's school! |
