8/12/2012parentThe teachers are Good, The teachers helpers and aids are not at all educated... They have no patience for the children and they have no understanding what their job title is.
4/20/2010parentThe teacher's are great! I love the school and so do my children! They really care how each and every child does here and that makes it a great school!!
1/10/2007parentMy son has gone to Burbank since 4K and is still going there. He has grown with the school. The teacher care about the kids and help them when ever they need it. The school has alot of after school activities, and we also have family math and science night.
6/3/2006parentMy daughter has been a student at this school for the last two years. I am so OVERLY pleased with all the teachers and staff and how they run the school overall that I commute an hour a day just transporting my child to the school and home. I strongly advise this school to others and have heard absolutely NO negative comment from any parent at the school. As far as I am concerned the Principal and Vice Principal should recieve an award for the dedication and determination!
6/28/2005parentMy Daughter wasn't doing very well in her previous school but we she came to Burbank school her grades has gotten higher and she was in Seventh grade. Her Old teacher Ms. Brookshire- Cain helped all her students do the positive things also Ms. Navarro to shes postive also.
6/26/2005parentMy children have gone to Burbank for 2 years now and I am looking for a new school. I do like the teachers but the school as a whole is not satisfactory. My kids have to share books with other classrooms and they can't bring them home. There were so many times where I couldn't really help my kids with their homework because I couldn't remember how it was done. If they had their own books to bring home I could use it as a reference. I also have a problem with the children at this school. My kids come home talking inappropriately and I feel that they are being influenced from kids I wouldn't want them around. Not to mention all the horror stories from their 10 minute bus ride. We are a hispanic family looking for a wholesome school.
3/28/2005parentI am very much impressed with the diversity of Burbank Elementary. There seems to be a very good mix of students from a number of racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. My son's quality of education is very good, as he landed an above-average score on the state math assessment. It is very important to to understand that just because there is a large number of students of color at a school, it does not mean that they are economically disadvantaged. It is extremely valuable to expose our children many different cultures. I love that Burbank does this. The other parent's child's behavior may be as a result of not knowing how to interact with students of different cultures. My son's behavior has been amazing. He now loves school and he is very highly regarded by the teachers and administrators. This is a drastic change from his previous years in predominantly white schools.
9/9/2003parentBurbank has a high percentage of 'economically disadvantaged' students. I was surprised at this percentage considering the neighborhood the school is in. My son comes home from school on a consistent basis with more behavorial problems than he ever has. However, I feel his teacher and principal are focused on the quality of education the children receive, which includes a consistent level of discipline that is required for some of his peers.
