| 12/17/2007 | parent | I cannot stress enough how good this school is. I left Collierville, TN because their schools rank near the bottom for all schools in the US and that town has much more $$ than Oregon. Forbes magazine again has ranked Madison schools as #2 in the entire US. Oregon, Veron, Middleton are ALL in the top 10 for the entire US. Parents need to be involved in their kids eductation but please do not complain about this school until you've actually been to one of the worst. This school believes in education first and you dont have 30 students per teacher. You have something special here believe me. |
| 8/25/2005 | staff | Staff is woefully unprepared for the increasing numbers of hispanic students that will be seen in the next 5 years, needing specialized instruction for English language-learners. Stop hiring coaches; hire qualified TEACHERS. The focus is too much on athletics. |
| 7/28/2005 | parent | Oregon has some wonderful teachers and the High School Administration this past year have worked very well together. I can't stress how important it is if you have a Freshman coming into the 'big school' that you stay involved with class choices and daily concerns. The school has gotten so big that we have 'lost' several of our kids who are now Juniors and Seniors because we did not have enough transition from the very well run and much smaller Middle School. Both the music and sports programs are wonderful but in my opinion the suspension and expulsion rate are way to high for a Village like Oregon. As it is in the world 20% of the kids take up 80% of the administrators time...Parents stay involved and it will be great. |
