Burlingame, CA is a small city in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has an active political scene, with several local elections held each year to select representatives for the City Council, Mayor, and other civic offices. As of 2021, Burlingame has seven City Council members elected by district, with staggered four-year terms. The Mayor is selected by a majority vote of the City Council and serves a two-year term. All City Council members and the Mayor are responsible for managing municipal affairs such as public safety, infrastructure development and maintenance, education funding, housing policy, economic development initiatives, recreational services, and representing Burlingame’s interests in regional negotiations. Recent political issues in Burlingame have included increasing public access to open space in the Baylands area and establishing funding for public transportation projects.

R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).
